LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. --Does a fork or dinner knife pose an unacceptable danger to President Barack Obama?
One wouldn’t think so, given the hundreds of lunches and dinners he’s attended ranging from state dinners to political fundraisers to run-of-the-mill stops on the rubber-chicken circuit.
However, at one such lunch Friday afternoon, guests heard an unusual announcement that they needed to hand over their silverware for security reasons.
“It’s very important that you use your utensils as soon as possible,” National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials board member Raquel Regalado told about 1000 delegates at the group’s annual conference.
Regalado hurried the diners to finish up their salads and pre-cut chicken breasts, saying that the Secret Service required that there be no knives at the tables and that the forks be rounded up before Obama entered the room.
“As you know, we’re having another speaker and there is some Secret Service involved. So there’s a reason why there’s no knives at your table and the forks will be collected…..And I’m not joking,” Regalado told the audience in a ballroom at Disney’s Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World. “So, like the good Hispanic mother I’m here to tell you to please, eat your lunch.”
A Secret Service spokesman confirmed that the agency made the request, but said such requirements are common at large events where the president speaks at about the same time people are dining....

20 years ago, I attended a Pavarotti concert ... in DC. There was a slightly higher than I expected security presence, but they weren't searching people or doing anything I thought was onerous. I had a knife in my pocket (as always), a fact of which officialdom was completely unaware and unconcerned. I cannot have been the only person so equipped.
Turns out GHW Bush and the Prime Minister of Japan were both in attendance.

Oh, my, I didn’t know spoons, forks, and case knives were weapons. I went to visit a friend in the Texas hill country over the weekend. How do I know she wasn’t going to kill me with a spoon? I survived with my life even though we used knives, forks, spoons.

How could they have confiscated forks and there not be a word about drinking straws? What if someone blew a pea from the salad through a straw aimed at the President and it killed or maimed him?

Some years ago, my husband and I were having lunch at a Pizza Hut. Midway through our meal, some guy comes rushing in the door, obviously upset and angry, yelling and making a scene towards the cashier and cooks behind the counter. The restaurant was semi-full, and as you can imagine, everyone had stopped eating and talking to watch what was clearly a tense (and possibly dangerous) situation.
After a minute or so of yelling and cursing, the "intruder" rushes behind the counter and grabs a utensil out of a canister sitting near the pick-up station. There's an audible gasp from everyone in the restaurant! Oh my gosh... what's he gonna do?!? Then, from the cashier's stand comes a sarcastic voice: "Dude... it's a spatula!"
Moments later, the angry guy exits the restaurant. Needless to say, hubby and I have not returned.

Dictator's do not trust anyone with even the most basic implements. They are constantly paranoid and do everything in their power to control their environment. Obama is starting to show his colors. He KNOWS the jig is up.
Let this serve as a warning, folks. When someone with narcissistic personality disorder starts to become paranoid, you run the risk of violence. Obama is going to start getting violent. He's going to start casting aspersions at large groups of people in the country, labeling them as dangerous "fringe groups."
I predict another Waco or Ruby Ridge. He's becoming very unstable, and it should be a concern for Americans.
