Since just before the last California presidential primary, the proportion of voters registered as Republicans has fallen from 33.5 percent to 30.4 percent, according to new figures from the California Secretary of State.

I can’t be the only conservative that has left the so-called Golden State.
California Secretary of State.
On Soros’ payroll?
He LOVES Secretaries of State-I hear he pays them well.
I wouldn’t register either.
Shocking./s
Naw, a simple glance at the graph indicates that the Democrats are actually losing ground. They are loud though, and control the media, the government, the schools, the unions, Hollywood, and what-have-you. And the Republicans just had two terms of Rino, so you get a larger portion that hates to admit being a republican or anything at all, but one thing is for sure:
The Republicans and most of the refuse to say will not be voting Dem.
That’s because they moved out of the state. Will the last one out please turn the lights out?
Oh who cares? Moronfornia is a write-off. And before any Californians get mad at me for saying that, I live in California and am a native of the state. I just recognize this place is a worthless political sewer.
The press won’t report on it, but conservatives i.e. sane Americans are leaving this dump for a better life.
Businesses aren’t coming to California because it consistently gets rated the worst place to do business. Not to mention the San Fran Freakshow factor.

From what I hear, the Dems are leaving Obama in droves. Most won’t even admit they voted for him in the first place.
Sadly, I’m returning to California. My daughter and friends are stuck there, and I need to be closer to them.
There aren’t any jobs in Oregon (current state of residence) and this state sucks too. Plus, Republican and Conservative politics are messed up in Oregon.
:( I’ll register as Republican in California
Immigration. The demographics of California will resemble the entire US in 2050. By 2050 one in three residents of this country will be Hispanic (same as CA today) and one in five foreign born (compared to 1 in 4 now in CA). Non-Hispanic whites will be a minority similar to what is now the case in CA. And like is the case in CA, the Dems will be the permanent majority party.
I suspect a perfect correlation between the decline of registered Republicans and the net outflow of whites (non-hispanics) from Californicate.
Are there many groups actively fighting against excessive immigration? Not just illegal immigration, but excessive numbers of immigration period? I’ve heard of NumbersUSA but I’ve wondered if there’s more. I don’t think a country can sustain levels of immigration like this. It’s unsustainable, to use a favored lib word.
The middle class is dead in CA. CA resembles many Latin American countries where you see a small elite composed of politicos, corporate cronies, and top bureaucrats. What is left of the middle class consists primarily of government workers. The lower classes are the illegals, welfare dependents, and low wage workers.
Revenue generation mostly depends on the corporations that were once innovative start ups. Eventually, they will ossify and seize up when faced with leaner competition from other states and abroad.
FAIR, American Conuncil for Immigration Reform, Center for Immigration Studies, Social Contract, just to name a few.
I live in CA and I was a registered Republican for over 30 years. I registered as an Indy in 2007 and I don’t regret it.
I’ve said it before: it’s a badge of rebellion being a member of the GOp in an EXTREMELY blue state. I’m not a member but my immediate family members are.
I still remember years ago when this idiot liberal actually asked me if I was Republican (after ranting about Bush for 5 minutes) and I answered calmly “No, I am not a Republican..’
Afterwards..I followed: “but I would rather kill myself 10 times over if I was a stupid, brainless Democrat”. Let’s just say, he didn’t “like” it. (Well, I was taller by 3 inches over him anyways ;)
With all the Rinos who can blame us.
That’s about the same time that I became a “Decline to State” voter.
For comparison, here are the numbers from 1982:
D: 53.2%
R: 34.9%
Decline to State: 9.4%
The Democrats have lost a lot more over the years than Republicans.
Nonsense - I’m assuming you don’t live here based on your comments. I’m sure there are areas that resemble what you have described, but not the entire state.
There aren’t many registered Republicans in Pyongyang and Havana either. Republicans just aren’t drawn towards Marxist nanny states. Republicans prefer that the government stay out of their lives and just leave them alone.
I live in Southern California (eastern LA county by Orange county). Republicans could win here if we had a strong, organized CONSERVATIVE Republican party here. The state GOP is a mess and when RINO’s run for office the Conservative vote is repressed.
Northern California is overwhelmingly Democrat and they alwqys have high voter turnout up there (always better than 60%). The more populated counties in Southern California lean Republican (eastern part of LA county, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego, Kern, Ventura) as well as the inland valleys. But voter turnout here is always in the lower 40% because Conservatives are uninspired by our choices for office.
Meg Whitman could have won the governorship, but once it was revealed she knowingly employed an illegal immigrant, Conservatives were put off and stayed home. The heavy Dem turn out up north off set the vote down here as it always does. All the well know Democrat moonbats (save Maxine Waters) are from the bay area (Fienstien, Boxer, Moonbeam).
We have some outstanding Conservatives representing this state in the House (Darrel Isaa, Tom McClintock, Ed Royce, Duncan Hunter). Conservatives can win here if the state GOP could get it’s act together. There was a higher percentage of registered Democrats in this state when Reagan, Deukmejian and Pete Wilson were elected governor. Dems are slipping her as well. I can guarantee you if a solid Conservative would run for office here, he would win. People here are fed up.
The out of control spending and the “See you at the bill signing” did it for me.
“I suspect that there are quite a few people like me here in CA - vote conservatively but never bothered registering as a Republican.”
We’re in the same boat. But you are correct, voting GOP is like voting Dem. However, the GOP in CA closes ranks and votes as a dependable united bloc unlike the national GOP which huffs/puffs but caves eventually. Being a minority makes you tougher actually but working in Hollywood, you will be surprised at how many closet conservatives there are. I mean, it’s not a coincidence that Iron Man’s script got green lit ;)
I'm thinking of doing the same here in NC.
During a Primary I could pick either party and their candidates .
Had I been an Indy(aka Unaffiliated here) last Tues. I would have likely crossed over and voted for the weakest Dems.
I would also suspect there are quite a few people who are really Republican/conservative who register as Dems in order to have a say in local elections, if the locals always end up being the Dem.
If CA keeps going in the current direction, it’s only a matter of time.
