GOP presidential front-runner Newt Gingrich is extremely susceptible to negative ads and drops behind Mitt Romney when hit with charges he pushed for a health care mandate, took money from Fannie Mae and backed other non-conservative issues, according to a new poll provided exclusively to Washington Whispers.
Gingrich's support is "decimated" when voters are exposed to just one negative ad, said polling firm Evolving Strategies.
"The percentage of respondents picking Gingrich as their first choice in the primary falls more than 15 points, from 42 to 26 percent," they said. [See pictures of the 2012 GOP candidates.]
In the innovative ad testing of voters nationwide, Evolving Strategies found that former Republican front-runner Romney benefits most from voters turned off by the negative Gingrich ads, with his support rising 10 points, a 39 percent increase in his standing.

Fine, then disregard it. Disregard also just about every recent poll that shows Gingrich on a downward trend.
I didn’t write the article so I don’t know what you are trying to accomplish with your personal attacks. Who did you vote for in 2008? Huckabee? McCain? I don’t vote for pro amnesty candidates. Period.
Did you even bother looking into the internals here? The anti-Newt ad was much longer and covered many recent topics and it incorporated Rush and other conservative figures. The Mitt ad was basically on Mitt's flip-flops and was sourced mainly from the MSM. The two ads are nowhere near comparable in their impact on a GOP viewership. This was a biased study from the start.

I was in favor of Fred. But by the time the GOP primary got to my state, it was over.
Decimate means destroy. A large (i.e. >50%) percentage. Drastic.

They had to lie and distort in order to accomplishment the objective of the article - to foist their hoped for negative influence on the voting public. It was calculated and intentionally dishonest.

Fred dropped out of the race on January, 2008, long before Pennsylvania voted. He then went on to endorse McCain. Look, I don’t really care who you voted for. In a few weeks you’ll see that I’m right.

I was talking about the 2008 race.
Right now I’m supporting Michele Bachmann and Gingrich is near the bottom of my list.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Talk Show Hosts do not rule the roost. Bachmann could not even get support among conservative republicans in the primary, to argue she could win a national election is laughable. If someone can’t win a primary, which she obviously is not going to do, they sure as hell have zero chance in the General.
Bachmann is a loud mouth who engages in extreme Hyperbole for effect, and some latch onto that, but she has no chance of winning a general election, no matter what entertainer you listen to tells you.
I would love the chance to vote for Bachmann. Heck, even Santorum and Perry would be good. Newt Romney are unacceptable and would lose to zero once the negative ads start.
The word decimate was derived from the Roman Legion practice of punishing troops by having ten soldiers draw lots and the loser was killed by the other nine. In latin, the word meant the "removal of a tenth."
The derived word in English has taken on a meaning which is not limited to just a tenth.
