Not a dime of this tobacco settlement money is going to help people with tobacco-related diseases and very little, if any, is going toward anti-smoking programs. The states are using what they're getting to plug holes in their budgets, while the sleazeball personal injury lawyers will be buying new Benzes and making even bigger contributions to the DNC.

Listen up, Soccer Moms and other Useful-Idiots who cheered on the state AG's and lawyers who were taking on "Big-Tobacco" and doing it "For the Children".....Your ox is next in line to be gored! The mini-van you drive, the happy meals you feed your kids, the Chunky-Monkey ice cream that you love...it's all going to be used against you. Thanks to the work of those commrads, the price of those things are about to tripple. But remember not to complain...."it's FOR THE CHILDREN!

I started buying my cigarettes online when Ohio decided to stick it to the smokers once again and raise the cigarette tax. I know a lot of other people who are doing the same. Even if buying them online wouldn't have been a big savings (which it is), I still would do it just to spite the RINO's in the general assembly and governor's office.

The tobacco companies are really at fault here. When they caved in on the first round of suits, knowing the government wouldn't block them from passing along the costs in each carton, well, it became obvious they would be easy pickings. For B & W to bitch now is laughable.

Many of the lawyers claimed they started working on litigation in 1994, two years before the case was filed.

A place for lawyers to hang their hat....... on to food producers.

The only people to gain anything and win in these type suits are lawyers. They win from the plantiff as well as the defendant.
America is litigation crazy and its getting worse and as long as you have this system with nothing but a lawyer to control it ,it will never change.

It is called a contingent fee. A lawyer is taking the same risk as the client. No money no fee. Big money big fee. Since when did capitalism mean a cap on profits? The states entered into a valid contract and they got what they agreed.

You should see the money lawyers make with ADA cases. There is a constant cash flow with those smaller cases.

Not surprised, lawyers will be in the big money, as long as nobody fights back......... it's just to easy for them to pick the fruit of the money tree.

I am from Ohio and I tell all the smokers I meet about online purchasing. I do it to spite the RINO's and to make a point about taxes.
