I'll take your word for it .. I fell asleep on the couch last night before it all happened.

Gotta keep my energy up for tonight's hockey game ;)

I know what you mean. I was watching last night & it was sickening the way they kept hyping up the Kwahn girl.

Wasn't it wonderful to see all of those shots of the door that Michelle Kwan was behind?!?!? There were at least 3 different times that NBC went to that shot. It was hilarious.

I heard that she married a hot hockey player last year...

That must make for some interesting nights at the local skate-O-rama... (to him) "Honey, your double cow-tow is a little agressive. Don't hit the kids as you land..." or (to her) "Dear, you need to be more agressive with that twirl. If you could take out a few kids as you slow it would look much better..."

:)

I think what drove me was when TracyPa accused Kwan of being greedy by winning to many championships. I am not trying to stop people from expressing their opinions. I just think people can remain relatively civil about them.

That said, I am glad that Sarah Hughes won. She skated the best and looked like she was enjoying it.

You know, I am an American Athlete Fan--I don't really care who wins, as long as it's one of ours!! I really had to laugh today when I heard that the Russians were going to protest the fact that Irina Slutwhatever didn't win the gold!!! HAHAHAHAHA...she skated like an elephant on skates..and her hand movements were a total distraction.
Sarah Hughes put on a phenominal performance and deserved the medal because she was better than everyone else on the ice last night!!!!!!!
Michelle Kwan was feeling the pressure and did not perform her best, therefore didn't deserve the medal. Of course she and her family were disappointed and showed it (hard to hide when emotions are running that high)but she, and they, were gracious in defeat. Maybe the Koreans ought to take lessons from them. (a la short track skating)

I have never been so inspired by an athelete as I was watching Sarah Hughes last night. She was simply supernatural and deserved the Gold without a doubt.

And yet TWO judges had her ranked FOURTH, behind Cohen and Kwan who both fell during easier routines, and behind Irina Slutskaya (sp?) who turned 3 triples into doubles and had a bad slip on a landing.

Nope, this is the first I have heard of it. What a nice gesture by Dorothy Hamill or Peggy Fleming, class acts both of them.

A coach would have told Michelle not to do a 'thumbs down' at the judges in the short program.

That is a big no-no, especially for later on in the judging..

Like what all skating experts will agree on, [Kwan] has the overall package. But not last night.....

I have a lot of respect for Kwan and what she has done for skating. However, I also thought her choice of music and her outfit (ick!) last night could have been more inspiring.

Congrats to Sara Hughes, who skated and looked like a champion.

Personally I think Sarah was the best and deserved the Gold.

I don't think Kwan deserved to place above shasha Coen though. Shasha's performance was much more entertaining than Kwan. Kwan was a bore. Fall or no fall.

It is not smart tell the judges off before the competition that accounts for 50% of your score.

That is the true disgrace of the night. There is no excuse for Sarah Hughes not receiving FIRSTS across the board for her free skate.
