I just listened to Mrs. Maher speak on FR Radio the past hour...what an absolute outrage! Anna Z and Mercuria are right about one thing...it is up to FREEPERS to get the job done, and that job is to bring Ted Maher home from Monaco. I remember what Congressman Bob Barr stated at the Inaugural Ball...he made it QUITE CLEAR that it was the CONSTANT BARRAGE of e-mail, letters, and faxes that put so much pressure on the Congress that it led to the impeachment of the rapist, William Jefferson Clinton. Freepers, it is time to roll up our sleeves once again...

The reply you received from Patrice Davost Monaco director of juridical affairs was six pages of lies--you may confidently discount every word including a, and, and the.

The lack of reply from Secretary of State Powell is completely unacceptable. An innocent American citizen -- an honorable veteran of the Army, a Green Beret -- is outrageously imprisoned two years without trial by the foreign power which kidnapped his wife, stole her U.S. passport and made heinous threats on her and their three young children -- yet this cabinet official responsible for such matters and former chairman of the Joint Chiefs allows this evil to continue without protest.

Please redouble your efforts on Ted's behalf. Make contact with Henry Hyde who has assumed the chair of the House Committee on International Relations and continue the work you did for Ted with Ben Gilman.

761 days this authoritarian principality has wrongly held our fellow American, with the resultant shredding of his family, the loss of their home, car, belongings, the deprivation of the children's father and the wife's husband--without a formal protest from this government.

Do for Ted what John Peterson (R-5-PA) did for Ed Pope with his H.Con.Res. 444. Mobilize the administration and the State Department. Their inertia can be overcome. Ted can be released.

Please do not allow this government to sleep any longer. There is evil being done to one of our own.

Ted's representative U.S. Congresswoman Sue W. Kelly has worked with Ben Gilman former chair of the House Committee on International Relations on Ted's behalf, writing Prince Rainier III of Monaco, and prodding the lethargic Clinton State Department.

Congresswoman Kelly has written Secretary of State Colin Powell on Ted's behalf (November 13, 2001) about the outrageous wrongful imprisonment of this innocent American, honorable veteran, loyal husband, loving father and caring and accomplished medical professional. But Ted has rotted in that foreign jail seven weeks more without any response from the former Army general and chairman of the Joint Chiefs.

Monaco seized Ted and extorted a false confession through three days in four-point restraint, using sleep deprivation and beating, kidnapping his wife, stealing her U.S. Passport, threatening her and their three small children. Monaco has held Ted without mail and with only one brief heavily-monitored phone call a week for over two years without trial.

Please intervene to free TED MAHER just as Ed Pope was freed from Moscow's Leforto Prison and the FSB's fraudulent charges. Contact Representative Kelly for details. Right a great wrong, free a veteran, unite a family.

1) Report the FACTS & only the facts.
2) Leave the America-hating, anti-military bias at the door.
3) Recognize an injustice has been perped upon this man in any number of ways that'd constitute his immediate release if he were here, in the USA.
4) Be willing to look into any number of possible motives for why this man's being framed?
5) Look closely into those who're involved, those who stood to gain (the most).
