Thanks for doing your part Colt, to keep our country free. Were you in the Navy? I assume so by looking at your profile.

Usually does.
Been happening alot lately.
For some reason, I'm tripping over my own two feet.
I swear they've either gotten bigger, or someone's replaced them with someone else's feet...

... there is no account; he is soon forgotten. ...

That's why I love Warrior Wednesdays when we get to learn about individual soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines and coast guardsmen and read about their personal experiences. Their legacies should never die!

Evening all!

Good thread Sam.

It really does not matter if most people don't remember him because there are some people who will never forget him.

Good evening, Victoria. Unfortunately not enough remember and we aren't teaching the young to remember.

We've put up a web site with the map for driving directions Rally Some small details remain, but the major ones are ironed out.

Hey SAM, this is one fine thread. This brought a tear to my eye as I was reading.

Noble boys; brave boys! They willingly gave their lives to their country's cause. Their bodies and bones are mangled and torn by the rude missiles of war. They sleep the sleep of the brave. They have given their all to their country.

I can't get over the hardships of the Civil War, and all the "brave boys" that gave all. Thanks for posting this, it is truly a great post. I'll have to get the book.

Outstanding, Sam. What these soldiers went through just boggles the mind. In addition to all that you have posted here, disease took more soldiers as bullets did. According to "Civil War Trivia and Fact Book" by Webb Garrison, the North had about twice as many deaths from disease as from wounds (224,850:110,100) and the South almost twice as many (164,000:94,000).

No kidding. I got strip-searched once at the airport in Toronto by a large Jamaican lady because my knee brace set off the metal detector.

She probably thought that you looked "HOT", and want to get a better look. LOL

Looking good GailA. I hope you get a great turnout, any estimate yet of how many you might expect?

No bet. We got warm air from the southwest on Monday and it warmed up to 50.

I went to visit my Mom this afternoon, and it was 80 degrees outside. There are still a few good things about living in CA.

Thanks real deal. Studying military history, I've found that places, weapons and times change, but the men and women are the same.

Thanks humal, with medicine in the state it was back then a lot of minor wounds either ended in an amputation or became infected and lead to death.

VRWCmember, I always thank everyone I see in a uniform of our fighting forces. I also tell thier relatives and friends to thank them for me if they are not present. Thanks for the reminder. BTW I am a proud member of the VRWC.
