Evening PhilDragoo.
From the documentaries I saw on Somalia, the UN came in and reversed a "working relationship" our Forces had managed to build with the local population. A UN shooting here and a botched UN raid there turned the attitude of the population against all the troops in Somolia. Our guys ended up paying the price. Clinton's refusal to supply armor while allowing the mission to change from humanitarian aid to "catch the bad guys" was paid for with the blood of Americans troops. Then he cuts and runs when the losses make him look bad.
