Hi stand watie.
Sam and I made only one sightseeing trip along the way to Oregon last week, we stopped at Shiloh. We thought about you and all our Foxhole "southern contingent" and Sam added a comment when we signed the guestbook... Free Dixie!
It was an awesome experience and helpful that we knew the story and Sam had war gamed it before and was my personal guide. We visited and said silent prayers on that hallowed ground.

Red Baron was a decent WWI Flight Sim that I enjoyed way back when.

He later recalled, "To keep up with the Joneses, we had to replace perfectly good piston-powered and turboprop airliners with the expensive new jets." He preferred that the other airlines be first to take the risk of breaking them in. I remember this quote explicitely from his biography. He hated seeing those perfectly good planes sold off.
Rickenbacker did not like the way the government interfered with private enterprise and believed it leaned toward more and more bureaucracy and control.
To bad more folks don't realize this.

It was quite an experience walking over that ground. I've always wanted to visit Shiloh and I figured it would be my last chance. We'll post the pictures we took as soon as Snippy gets settled in and she downloads them.
