Fox News and its truth deniers
World Net Daily ^ | November 17, 2011 | Ilana Mercer

The dueling-perspectives political panel is compatible with the aims of CNN, MSNBC and the other progressive broadcasters. Here is how it works: You invite a member of the Republican establishment – often a RINO, preferably a bimbo – to do battle with a lefty from similar circles. The sides are ideologically so close that, in all likelihood, the panelists hang out after the show.

This format is positively postmodernist. Why? Because, by presenting the public with two competing perspectives you mislead viewers into believing that indeed there are two realities, and that it is up to them to decide which one is more compelling.

The one parallel universe is represented on Fox Business by the likes of Nancy Skinner, Caroline Heldman, Tara Dowdell, Carl Jeffers, Joe Sibila, Erika Payne and others.

I don’t watch MSNBC, CCN, et. al. but I agree that the whole Fox News operation has become formulaic and tiresome. I can only watch moments of it until the shout ing starts of the likes of Juan Williams appear and then I hit the remote. As Newt would say (when he is not saying the opposite), it is time to crush and defeat the Left. One side of the story is the truth.

The MSM is in it to spin it.

I am glad they referenced Fox Business, because Fox News is becoming MSNBC.

Caroline Heldman is pretty smart but her views are left of Obama's.

What I wonder is whether FoxNews was created for this purpose?

That is, to pull the perspective of the MSM-watching nation LEFTWARD by initially positioning themselves as "right-wing"; thus allowing other MSM outlets to spew all-out radical leftism, while FoxNews gradually moves it's presentation toward the Left. With the net result that FoxNews is now as bad as the MSM HAD been (prior to the entry of Fox), and the rest of the MSM is now even farther Left. Thus, the perception of what is "middle-of-the-road", "main-stream", or "moderate" has been moved significantly toward the Left -- NOT the Right -- in recent years.

Both sides say predictable things. They have little grins on their faces, thinking in their own minds they are being clever. It is a silly game these networks play.

As opposed to WND's yellow journalism tactic of printing one sensational view including demonstrably false Internet rumors ...

I think your analysis is spot-on. FOX makes me sick.

The only time I turn Fox News on is at 3 AM, to watch "Red Eye".

Very funny stuff!(or maybe it's just funny cuz it's 3 AM)

“formalistic and tiresome”. Good description, Ada.
Not only do we have to put up a the faux Conservative, B’OR, but also with regular Lefties(Juan, Beckel, Geraldo, Mara L.,Alan, Kristen, Shep and even Bret B.who is listed as a “moderate Democrat” on Wikapedia) but the guests are predictable and unwatchable. Mark Hillman(the professor), Caroline(an SNL caricature for liberalism),Lanny Davis, and Tamara.
And now Miller seems to have jumped the shark as well.
Hannity is predictable and repetitive, while forever interrupting his guests. His Great, Great is not so much.

Where are we to go anymore for some late afternoon or evening viewing? What’s with Roger Ailes and Rupert anyway?
Thank goodness for Mark Levin and Rush who will be our salvation in the next year...Bill Cunningham on Sunday night. Anyone else I should know about?

” One side of the story is the truth.”

Not exactly.

In a lot of cases neither side is telling you the truth.

They don’t care which side you believe as long as you never know what the truth is.

Excellent listing. Margaret Hoover (talk about RINO birdbrain) often scheduled with Gretchen Carlson on BOR’s “ethics” segment, should be added. And, much as I like her general appearance and demeanor, Dana Perino. Then there’s Prof. Mark Lamont Hill, now of Columbia, who, when agitated, sounds exactly like Brer Fox from Song of the South.

I can’t stand listening to Bob Bennett. The man is a fool. Why would I want to listen to that garbage?

I watched “Red Eye” one time. Not amused by the sophmoric humor and the uncouth language.

Whatever you may think of WND, I don't think you can question Ilana Mercer's credentials.

She's one of the most honest, incisive commentators on the Web, and a refreshing change of pace from the Reasonoids/Gary Johnson/Cato crowd, which does a disservice to libertarianism, IMO.

It's not just you; I love Red Eye!

It took a while for it to grow on me, but once it did I was hooked.

And speaking as someone who's met both Imogen Lloyd Webber and Bill Schulz, I can say that the former is as beautiful as she looks on television and the latter as strange.

I meant Mark Lamont Hill when I said Prof. Mark Hillman.
Dana Perino should be on the list. And Gretchen Carlson...they are both unpredictable.
Add:Steve Murphy.
Megan Kelly.

Keepers? Cavuto, Hemmer, McCallum, Shannon Bream.
I’m on the fence about Greta. She’s from Wisconsin
so that gives her a point or two.

Give Fox News credit.

Without The Five you wouldn't be reminded every day of what you disliked about the Bush administration.
