Paul Touts Spending Cuts ... (Meet the Press, legal video at link)
National Review ^ | October 23, 2011 | Katrina Trinko

Posted on 10/23/2011 12:12:45 PM PDT by Kurt Evans

In a wide-ranging interview on Meet the Press today, Ron Paul talked about his plan to cut $1 trillion in spending, his hope that the government will eventually get out of the housing market, and his frustration at the U.S. military intervention in the Middle East.

Paul also lamented the “uselessness” of some of the arguments in the GOP primary debates.

“I mean, arguing over who mows Mitt Romney’s lawn,” Paul said. “In the midst of a crisis, a sovereign debt worldwide crisis, the biggest in the history of the world, and the financial system of the world is about to collapse. We’re about to have another devaluation of … our credit rating. This is serious, and no control in the spending.”

“We’re going to have to get a hand on this,” Paul added. “We have to quit worrying over who’s mowing Mitt Romney’s yard.”

Say what’cha want bout Ron Paul, my opinion is that he has a better grasp on constitutional, fiscal, domestic matters than any of the GOP candidates.

The “/s” was meant to indicate ironic humor. I just thought I’d give you a fake insult before the real ones start. :)

I agree with your statement. One of the major problems is that most Americans don’t know or understand the Constitution. If only we could become a people who know and appreciate the gift given this nation by our founders. They gave us the blueprint for a better and freer life and we’re letting power hungry evil-doers destroy it.

Yes I did, and I’ve also seen him in the debates which was more than enough for me.

That's good. I'm feeling warmed up already.

I don't care, flame away. I've been sizing up the candidates, not yet decided who to vote for.

The last debate really spoke loudly. The childish exchanges between Santorum/Romney, Perry/Romney, and the all out attack on Cain just nauseates me when I think one of these guys could end up being the president.

Bachman’s toothpaste commercial persona....”You can find out what I stand for on Bachman.com” stuff along with that crazy loony last date look on her face {{{{shiver}}}}

I like Cain, but he gives off that black southern preacher thing that in the end won't fly. May make a good vice or cabinet member, but not sure he can go the distance.

Newt, clearly the most intelligent guy on the stage...one word that describes his coming downfall.....baggage!

Paul scares me sometimes particularly on the foreign aid to Israel thing. I am glad he explained his position however.

It is NOT constitutional to take our tax dollars and give them to foreign entities. I think “constitutionally speaking” he’z correct.

I find myself agreeing with more of what he say’z than disagree. I still feel his chances to beat Obozo are slim.

Ho-hum, wheres Perot when ya need’m.

When you say Ron needs to meet a psychiatrist, are you suggesting he has a serious mental illness?

The fact that he’s OK with Iran having nukes proves that he’s either stupid or insane and quite possibly both.

All you have to do is pay a little attention to Iran to know that Iran with nukes is different than China with Nukes. Most countries like having them to use as a threat but the Iranian leadership wants them to bring the Mahdi.

Iran has every intent of using nukes and have made it abundantly clear. I have a little trouble deciding what’s worse, a psychotic death cult with nukes or some moron who says its none of our business.

I am going by what I watched with my own eyes during the republican debate. He said something like “we do not need a wall, if we follow his ideas”...paraphrasing.

It was a sarcastic remark but I do believe he has issues. If you want to pin your hopes on someone who says Israel needs to fend for itself without any further support from the US, then be my guest. He said it in the last debate and sounded very much the antisemite. I have no further use for someone who has said what he did.

Bring back the Mahdi? You’ve been listening too much to crying Nervous Nellie Glenn Beck. Iran, unlike most countries, has not started a war in centuries. The secular Saddam attack it, not the reverse. BTW, one could make a much stronger case that China under that mass murderer Mao and Russia under the even greater mass murderer Stalin were far more likely to have ideological reasons to use nukes, yet neither did.

Would you say every border that doesn’t have a physical wall on it is an “open border”?

There was a typo in your previous post: Israel AND Egypt and Saudi Arabia and Libya and Pakistan (all of whom ALSO feed off the public teat of broke American taxpayers) would have to fend for themselves under a Paul foreign policy. When you add this correction, of course. it kind of takes the winds out of your sails.
