I pity any kid who has someone so intellectually dishonest, inexperienced, and arrogant as to blame a kids inability to read, which is a product of removing God's word from the classroom, on the Word itself, for a counselor.
The blind leading the blind.
When the King James Bible was the primary text in America's schools, we were the most literate nation on Earth; now we're at the bottom of the heap.

I don't know about that es. My school didn't use the kjv in Bible study, we used the NIV. We all learned to read very well.

Please cite statistics to show America is the least literate nation on earth.
Poppycock.

" My quarrel is with those who would force Christians to use the KJV even when they struggle to understand it." You have set yourself in opposition to God's word, and the Holy Spirit with this deliberately misleading statement.
No one led by the Holy Spirit 'struggles with' the Word.
Yor self-important arrogance is staggering.

"Please cite statistics to show America is the least literate nation on earth." We are the least literate of the developed nations. There is no one left, even in the educational establishment, that challenges that fact.

every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God
Is there a scripture reference that states that "every word" was written down? Just curious.

What I mean is since you are harping about the KJV being the only correct Bible, you should carry it to the next logical conclusion! That being the entire KJV, as originally written, Apocrypha and all.

the Apocrypha was never a part of its Canonical text.
You guys have some weird 'logic'!

The NIV has really improved our reading skills!

So is there a scripture reference that states that God wants us to follow only the written word? Just curious.

You;d better throw out the Bible then, because the very canon was developed under the auspices of the Catholic church. The canon was the canon before it was given the nod by some council of men. The New Testament already had its authority, men merely recognized it, they did not confer it.
The New Testament books were already in use by the churches.
(I researched the formation of the NT canon for a term paper. I could email it to you if you like.)
Sure, I wouldn't mind reading it. You can use kevsen@yahoo.com.

Have you ever actually read Westcott? I have, and he always argued that the text had been remarkably preserved for being 1800 years old. He was not eeeevil man Riplinger claims he is.I have not actually read Westcott, although I have read about his theories in Hills, Van Bruggen, and Letis. I already told you that I have not read Riplinger so I don't know why you keep bringing his name up.

I pity any kid who has someone so intellectually dishonest, inexperienced, and arrogant as to blame a kids inability to read....Of all the arguments I hear against the KJV this is the one I least understand. I had a hard time with Pre-Calculus, does that mean we need different textbooks?
I was out on visitation with our youth pastor who is a black man. We were talking a little bit about this debate and he told me that back when America had slaves, the slaves taught themselves to read using the KJV. So I don't see where the person's reading ability really impacts this argument. If they have a hard time reading, teach them to read.

If they have a hard time reading, teach them to read. See, that's not what I see my job as being. My job is to show these kids what the Bible says. Which is more profitable: teaching them what the Bible says about God and who He is, and that we're totally depraved sinners, or what 500-year-old English means?

More ad-hominem from the KJV-only crowd. Why am I not surprised.

I know, but I believe her misrepresentations have spread even to your sources.
Look: I think you're an intelligent, rational guy, and I'm willing to discuss the issues with you. (As opposed to the KJV-legalists. I am going to ignore them; they have proved themselves to be "false brothers [that have] infiltrated our ranks to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus.") Now that I know what your position is (that you don't trust modern textual criticism, even the conservative stuff), I respect it. I don't agree, and think I can back it up, but I respect it.
