I believe that it perfectly illustrates the doctrine of election to be true. I f the apostle Paul could not convince him then he was unable to be convinced because he could not. On the other side of it ,how did Paul become convinced? He was sure of his mission and at the highest level of his Jewish belief. How could he be converted? That would be like going to the temple and the Rabbi announcing to the congregation: By the way I became a Christian last night. Were changing everything. Who’s with me?

I believe in elect through the foreknowledge of God.

1 Peter 1:2

Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, to obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you, and peace, be multiplied.
