Boo hoo!
Them bad Israelis are hitting back!
--Hamas_Murderer(Off with their heads!!)
Then who is?
Who ELECTED him to LEAD you guys?
For the same reason they do today.
Whoa!
You are going directly against the teaching of the Catholic “Church”!
You should say a “good” Act of Contrition.
LOL
There’s evidence in the catacombs, from the time that at least John the Apostle was still alive.
The St Gallen mafia.
Who elected Biden and "Heels-up" Harris to LEAD you guys?
"...I can never win here, because everyone is so sure of themselves..."
Clearly, reading for comprehension is a strange notion for you.
What a stupid thing to say (I'm not calling you stupid - it's your words)!
A. I answered your questions earlier. I was careful to delineate YOUR words and MY answers. If you want to know what goes on in an evangelical, Bible-believing church, then visit one. You'll see such a contrast and if you are among the elect, you may see a dramatic change in your view of God, His purpose for you, and the utter worthlessness of the "Roman Catholic Church". I know MANY people (many, in deed!) who have followed that advice and are much better off because of it.
B. You never answered any of my questions - and you won't. Why? Because they reveal the hypocrisy of YOUR "church's" effort to cast doubt on God's gift of salvation for believers. Doubting your salvation is a hallmark of the Catholic "church" (n.b. "purgatory"). It helps them make money and subjugate its adherents into the slavery of their system. Satan is behind it all. He likes it when people don't trust God.
C. I know what I'm talking about. You don't have a clue.
D. Once again, I'm not saying you're stupid. I'm saying you are ignorant. (Just as Ken Regis said) You could become enlightened. You could break out of the shackles. There's always hope, until you're dead. Then nobody can pray you into heaven. Nobody. Not Mary. Not your marxist pope. Not your "priest" - no matter how many Masses are "said in your name" (What a joke!)
It's really outrageous! If you step away from the whole RCC scene - and get an outside view - through the lens of the Bible, you have to wonder, "How the hell can anybody buy this crap?" The questions you won't answer are all clues for you but you're not listening. Those few questions are just scratching the surface of the crap. (That's an odd word-picture, isn't it?)
MetMom - I think I directed that last post CORRECTLY.
Again, I’m sorry for messing up earlier.
I was on my way out the door.
“Reading for comprehension is important.”
There’s a lot you don’t know about me, so don’t assume anything.
No, sometimes I scan your posts because they’re so full of pompous BS.
What’s in the catacombs is irrelevant.
Really? The place where the first Christian Martyr’s were buried? These were the beliefs of those people. Amazing you just dismiss them.
And as we read in the New Testament there were a lot of false beliefs already circulating.
I can imagine during a time of grief people would pray for their loved ones. However, it doesn't have Biblical support.
Purgatory is not found in the New Testament. Once a person dies there is no more chance for them....their eternal destination has been determined.
No amount of praying will get anyone into Heaven at this point.
It is appointed once for man to die and then the judgment.
If the sacrifice of Christ on the cross is insufficient to cleanse one of their sins....no amount of praying is going to help the deceased.
If you’re correct, then you should heed Gamaliel’s advice and see that the faith didn’t last and collapsed on its own. You think that the Roman Martyrs died for false beliefs? Unbelievable.
People in Purgatory are already saved.
You think that the Roman Martyrs died for false beliefs?
As I noted...there was already error in the church.
And, again...if the sacrifice of Christ is insufficient to cleanse one of all sins no amount of praying will help the deceased.
You're either forgiven of your sins or you're not.
I know what you have written...
and
you haven’t answered my questions.
I answered your questions and you steered clear of my response. That says something else about you.
You can’t defend you ignorant beliefs. That says something about you.
So, it turns out I know a few things about you but I can’t detail them here because its against the rules.
The evidence is clear.
You don’t know much, so there’s not much to know about you.
Go ahead and react.
I’m done with you.
Sounds like your chosen religion is like a dead fish: rotting from the head down.
So;what REALLY happens to someone in purgatory?
What questions did I not answer. I can defend Catholicism and have been instrumental in a conversion to the Faith of a non Catholic Christian. When a person is belligerent and condescending, I tend to get pissed off. I posted some stuff today that I wish I didn’t. But when something is attacked that is important to oneself (ie, the Mass, the Liturgical services of the Church, dismissing Scripture readings, etc.) I then retaliated with an equally exaggerated version of Protestant worship that is fairly popular among many people. So sorry for that.
You don’t really know about Catholicism. You think you do, but what your an expert on are claims about Catholicism that have been popular for the last 500 years. The same goes for some others. metmom has said several that the Church collapses without Mary. Untrue. Mary is Holy but she is a member of the Church, not a Messiah. What would destroy the Church would be the collapse of the Sacramental system. Receiving God’s free gift of grace through the Sacraments is the central practice of Catholics. Things like scapulars, medals and such are private devotions that a Catholic doesn’t even have to be involved with at all.
