That should be your Tagline.
No, I don’t. And I don’t condemn people because their understanding of Christianity is different than mine. Or act like every action that I may not understand from someone’s religion is some nefarious plot.
I don’t pretend to know everything and sit in judgement of other Freepers, telling them with relish and fake authority that they’re condemned to Hell.
You are doing exactly what you condemn others for allegedly doing.
In case you hadn’t noticed, GOD Himself tells us what He’s thinking inn His word. Relaying that information is not someone thinking they know all about God. That’s a gross misrepresentation of what someone said and is reading far too much intent into it.
Which is what many FRomans on this forum and Catholicism itself does continually.
Well, I don’t. And yes there are Catholic writers who write Apologetics (as they should), but I don’t remember any saying that Protestants were part of some evil scheme. Anti Catholics take it for granted that Churchmen sat around and suddenly said stuff like, “haha let’s invent Purgatory today” like it wasn’t a belief held by most of the faithful and no one consciously “invented” it.
Knowing the Word of God doesn’t mean someone knows the minutia of all Catholic beliefs and (again) accuses Catholics of bad faith if they don’t agree with some of their less believable ideas.
That person said, "probably."
Reading for comprehension is important. Words mean things. It's not going to be just whatever makes you feel comfortable in you indignation.
He wrote:
How many of your 1.2 billion adherents are being misled, and will probably go to hell?
And I agree. Most are probably going to hell. Why? Because they add works to grace and that won't work.
Can you chew the holy eucharist now? Or, do you still have to let it melt, become soft, and then swallow?
What's the latest rule on that?
What if there's a fumble and it falls on the floor? Can just anybody touch it? Or is it up to the "priest" because he's better than you?
What's the latest regulation on that?
How long after absolution are you good for until you can't take communion? Two weeks? Three?
Again, what's the rule? Is it a local rule?
How long do you have to fast before you take communion? Should the fast end when the "Liturgy of the Eucharist" starts, or earlier, when you genuflect and make the sign of the cross?
What's the latest rule on that?
Do you not see that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach and is expelled? (Matthew 15:17)
What's the rule on THAT? Do you take any "special" precautions after transubstantiation?
In summary, the Roman Catholic Church is a vicious trap, set by Satan, and aimed at keeping people from the truth.
Your turn.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
See how they love one another.
That’s it?!
Subject change?
Well, how’s this: You see a man choking and you say, “I’ll just love him.” ??
No.
You grab him and force out of him the thing that is killing him!
What I’m telling you is the highest form of love - Someone laid down His life for you, and you(r “church”) is ignoring that love, the gift of life, and throwing rules and regulations on top of it - in the end they are suffocating you.
“Who has bewitched you?”
Can you answer any of my questions? What are the latest rules you people need to follow?
Your turn.
I had a long post typed up, but I lost it. I’ll simply say I’ve loved Jesus Christ since I was a child, I learned about Jesus’ ultimate act of Love from one of those evil Nuns, and I’ve never stopped loving Him. So stop lecturing people who already know Christ.
Faith + Empty Works = nothing
Can you answer any of my questions?
No.
What are the latest rules you people need to follow?
Silence.
If you can’t take a lecture, then you should go to Mass - nothing significant is communicated there.
Buh-Bye
If you die today, where would you go and why?
PS see my graphics of the Bible verses.
I had a long reply written, and it got screwed up because I hit the wrong key. I’m not repeating it.
Do you consider works of the Law and “good works” to be identical? They’re not. Do you believe once saved, always saved? If so why, and where exactly is this in the Bible? Why do you take such pleasure when you talk about people going to Hell?
I didn’t even really want to get in this conversation. I made one comment, which was ignored for a day before metmom decided to answer. Then a few insults, and now I’m dragged into an argument I can never win here, because everyone is so sure of themselves and their interpretation of the Word. No ones mind is being changed, just more acrimony and hatred.
I’m not the pugnacious type. I don’t like fighting and arguing with people who I know I won’t convince of anything, and none of you are going to convince me, that’s for sure.
Even if you don’t believe the presence of Jesus in the Holy Sacrament of the Altar, the Gospel is read, epistles from Paul are read, people pray. So plenty things of significance are given to people who attend the Mass.
Good ol’ ebb - supporting his chosen religion like no other on FR!
Uh; mostly.
I think it may fall under "enduring to the end" category.
Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
