Takes like this are a pretty good indication that there is a lot of awful theology in the American Church.
Given that God himself does not delight in the fate of sinners, a take like this is at best unseemly and at worst it anti-christ... who after all died for all, even a murderer and christian tormentor like Paul. Even for me, when I was his enemy.
You may think the language being spoken sounds vile. That’s fine. A lot of people are not cut out to be ambassadors; they would rather throw stones than go the extra mile.
2 Thessalonians 2: 9 -12
It does, it is, and that ship has sailed. Anyone who is left in those pews after Hanson and his acolytes lit the fuse some time ago is either ignorant (willfully or otherwise) or those who willing to become apostates by the drop rather than guzzle the bottle. Their ancestors who lived and died in these same churches before the ELCA formed would be aghast.
The good news is that the formerly endless supply of parishioners who die and leave money or property to this particular brand of safety-pin paganism is now drying up. The real Bible-believing Lutherans have mostly already left for LCMS, WELS or opted out of anything Lutheran altogether by going to an independent fundamentalist congregation.
Those backing this must have never read what the bible thinks about homos, lesbos and child perverts. That’s probably why some of them are now talking about rewriting the bible to make it inclusive. That’s why when someone says “God bless America” I think “Why would He?”
the key word here is “Minnesota” don’t cha know
bingo. Normalization has succeeded.
Certainly among the wealthiest congregation in the Minneapolis area. Doubt any of them know anything about Martin Luther.
Marty would be so proud of her.
I belive she is destined for The Lake of Fire!
The so called, rainbow spirit is when she crossed the line into accusing the HOLY SPRIT of endorsing evil. Goodbye.
I wonder how baptism works..
I baptise you in the name of the dad, the guy with the really cool tunic and the rainbow?
There is absolutely nothing Christian and Lutheran about these people. Doesn’t sound like they have even opened a Bible or the Book of Concord.
I must have missed the verse that mentioned his tunic as being fabulous. Is there a Marvel Comics version of the Bible these folks are reading?
...”the youngest who make noise”...I guess that is there weasel words enabling them to leave out the youngest in the womb.
That was the Lutheran church in Germany, which then split with Bonhoeffer’s underground confessing Lutherans being opposed to Hitler, and the state-funded church being taken over.
That has nothing to do with the Lutheran churches in America, which were composed of immigrants who left Europe church 1850, long before WW2 precisely because the German state had moved to take over church affairs, caused a rift by forcing Lutheran chirches and Reformed churches together.
Not to mention most Lutherans up north were not German at all but came over from Sweden and Norway...again, well before there were such things as Nazis, so there was no formal connection back to post WW1 Europe. Germany was not the Vatican, with power over churches in far off lands.
But some immigrants did come over with socialist influence from the 1848 revolution in Germany.

Bingo!
The very same argument used against the arch-heritic Arius in the Fourth Century.
May our gracious God ERASE the heretical and blasphemous “sparkle creed” from all minds and hearts of those who have heard or recited it!!!!
May He replace it with the Nicene Creed in its original Orthodox form!!!!
