Yeah, because no Muslim has EVER disowned, mistreated or killed their own child because of her/his conversion to Christianity.../s
Which is why parents need to do a better job of ensuring their children are raised in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. They should not only know what they believe but why they believe it. It's not good enough anymore to tell your kids, "That's just what we believe.".
Agreed. If your kid leaves the faith after a year in college, it isn’t the college that is faulty. It is the child’s faith. It isn’t real. It is just a habit he picked up from living with you.
Two of my kids are like that. They acted and talked like Christians in high school. They still at some level understand. They accept the existence of God. But not to the point of letting God tell them what to do. One has been living with a man she isn’t married to and who she admits may walk out on her next week. And she admits it isn’t even healthy, apart from “sin”. But she doesn’t care enough to change.
The problem isn’t the fault of the man and it isn’t because she doesn’t KNOW it is wrong. She doesn’t CARE that it is wrong. It is what she wants NOW.
Her childhood faith wasn’t faith at all. Just a behavioral veneer. I can hope and pray she’ll repent, but I cannot repent for her!
Which is also why I don’t accept this modern BLM repent of slavery thing. If I cannot repent for my own daughter’s promiscuity, then how can I repent for the slave owning of total strangers in the 1800s? And who lives such a perfect life that they need to repent of other people’s sin? Have they none of their own? I cannot imagine being so morally pure that I could pray, “God, please forgive me for someone else’s sin!”
Too bad her teacher didn’t convert her to secular humanism and evolutionism. The Left’s reaction to that would have been fun to watch.
I hope you find comfort in knowing that you have given to your children a basic foundation in the Christian faith - you have planted the seed. Others - including you and your family - will water but it is God who gives the increase. Your daughter may not be living how she should be now in a way that honors the Lord, but continue to love her, pray for her (I will too) and be the best example of a Christian she knows. Like my Tagline says, “Lord, make my life a testimony to the value of knowing you.”. She may have some times of heartache and pain ahead of her before that light turns on in her heart and she runs to the arms of her Heavenly Father prodigal son-like. The “Hound of heaven” will not give up on her.
Thank you.
