My first thought was of Jacob wrestling with God.
Dr Peterson has my prayers....and, has had them, for some time.
Yeah, I’ve heard the same but was super surprised to see the artwork inside his house. Really unnerved me.
He and his wife started collecting the Soviet era art to provide an ever-present reminder not the evils of communism. The devotion he has shown to hatred of communism has made the Alexander Solzhenitsyn estate choose Jordan to write the forward to the recent 50th anniversary addition of The Gulag Archipelago .
Like many with his training the reality of the life of Christ is confounding to his brilliance.
Jordan Peterson’s dark secret: his room is not tidy and needs to be cleaned.
He was addicted to benzodiazepines after taking them as prescribed. Evil stuff. I was on that shite for 8.5 years. It’s hard to come off even with slow extended titration.
I read about his struggles and how it was quite a journey back - THAT'S usually when a man would say "Jesus, help me" - as long as Jordan thinks he can power through on his own strength, he doesn't reach for the Savior's hand.
Fascinating. I didn’t know that.
I can accept him as a non-believer or an agnostic within the conservative ranks so long as he qualifies under Russell Kirk’s first principle of conservatism: Belief in an Enduring Moral Order.
So, I am reading some of his writings to determine my take on how wishy-washy is his moral and ethical stance, i.e. does he fall into the Situational Morality trap.
When you can read his mind & his heart get back to me on that, k?
Did you read the article? Could you follow the discussion?
Get back to me when you can, K?
I read it, fallacious one who ASSumes that someone would disagree with their comment only because they did not read the article, which dovetails nicely with my response to you after your comment to me.
You do not know how to read minds or hearts.
You never will. Please remember that before asserting directly or indirectly that you can do so. You won’t make such fallacious statements in the future that way, in my experience.
No, but if someone says they are not a Taoist, or not a Hindu, I would have to believe them - it's not reading their mind, it's listening to what they say and believing their words.
If Jordan says he does not believe in the Diety of Jesus the Christ - I tend to believe him.
I don't know what your major malfunction is with that reasoning.
You are correct, I was just lazy - I didn't know how to spell "benzodiazepines" so I hastily wrote "opioids", and they are not the same thing.
Sadly, even though they were legally prescribed he did develop an addiction to them, and I gather they are maddeningly difficult to stop safely.
I am happy he has recovered and is back with his series on the Bible - he's a fascinating man.
It’s based on old information for starters.
Watch it & learn or not & remain as you are.
