“Ravi had committed criminal sexual abuse”
If Ravi had committed criminal sexual abuse, why was it never brought to trial?
This was a godly man who is now being defamed, and since he is deceased, cannot defend himself. Therefore, we can say anything we want to with no recourse.
Fake News indeed.
What a bunch of crap....published by Christian Post. Trash. Simply trash.
So, what, only links to the victims' and witnesses' depositions count as evidence?
The dude owned a massage parlor.
Unfounded conclusion. While his sins may render some less receptive to his apologetics, they are irrelevant to the substance of what he taught and the rhetorical effectiveness of how he taught it.
Phillipians 1: 15 It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill.
16 The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel.
17 The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains.
18 But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice
Practically all of the great heroes of the Bible stories had some serious flaws too. King David had his loyal military officer killed in his scheme to cover up the adulterous affair with his impregnated Bathsheba. Now if RZ did his accusers accusations it too is sin but God is merciful if we repent just like King David did for his atrocity.
Creepy Porn Lawyer might be able to make these charges stick.
SHEESH! REALIZE THE TIMES YOU ARE IN NobelFree. Your society is being ripped down all around you by your enemies that will stop at nothing to undermine pillars of our society and destroy YOU! Don't be the enemies ally.
Ravi was one such pillar. Ravi was a ROCK SOLID APOLOGETIC PREACHER - up there with Billy Graham. A truly great man who is in my Savior’s arms now.
A weasel that is trying to build his fame on the ashes of a dead Christian giant. Trying to sell his book on Amazon. Trying to gain name recognition. Trying to pedal his wares on the hard work and destruction of a great Christian Philosopher.
Pays no mind to the destruction he heaps onto Christianity by writing these hit pieces as the country totters on Civil War and uncertainty.
PATHETIC.
Equally PATHETIC are those that encourage him and his ‘message’.
Imagine a small town with one intersection governed by a stop light and monitored by a corrupt cop. If you are among the town's elite, and/or a buddy of the cop, you can run the red light with impunity. If you're on the cop's list, or from out of town, you're getting pulled over and getting a ticket even if you came to a complete stop at the red light.
The fact that imperfect, corrupt or simply evil people are involved does not invalidate the broader, overarching wisdom of regulating traffic at intersections.
Hypocrites who say one thing and do another should rightly be called out, but I think we all need to invest a little effort to overcome our natural inclination to focus on the hypocrite's shortcomings and failures rather than what may be the wisdom or rectitude of their words which they failed to uphold.
It could be a deliberate frame-up - but IMO the simplest and thus likeliest explanation is that Ravi was a sinner (as are we all).
Ravi was a ROCK SOLID APOLOGETIC PREACHER
Which to me makes it far from impossible that he's guitly as charged.
How would trashing a noted anti-atheist apologist help him sell anti-atheist books?
Agreed.
“The realization that Ravi Zacharias was not the greatest apologist of his generation – but rather one of its greatest frauds – has felt like a catastrophic betrayal.”
This conclusory statement is ignorant or misleading or both. MLK,Jr. was, by many accounts, a notorious womanizer, yet his writings are scripturally based and powerfully convincing. Zacharias apparently falls into the same camp.
Color me skeptical of Carson Weitnauer who chose to quote LOTR instead of Scripture. “Rhodes College and Oxford?” OK, I see the pattern here.
I don’t support RZIM because Ravi Zacharias was or was not a saint. I couldn’t care less. I look at the teaching and the challenge to consider a Christian worldview.
If I were limited to supporting ministries of perfect people only, I’d send nary a dime to anybody. That could be Weitnauer’s goal. It’s certainly the equilibrium effect of a world of Weitnauers.
Sounds a lot like Satan’s goal, too. Just sayin’
This writer really wouldn’t have liked King David, the adulterer. He really, really wouldn’t have liked Moses, the murderer and law breaker.
The oriental cultures are different than ours. Massage parlors are more common
The evidence seems to be people saying things about him, after he is dead, concerning what happened between them years ago. I’ve always been very uncomfortable with that sort of evidence. I’m not entirely comfortable with Bill Cosby’s conviction, but at least he is alive and was given a public trial where other sides could be presented.
This Ravi guy is being convicted without public testimony and without any possibility of defense. If someone won’t make the accusation when the other person is alive, they ought to shut up afterward. I believe in the right to face your accuser. And I abhor anonymous accusations.
Beware false prophets.
RE: Beware false prophets.
Judging from his PUBLIC TEACHING and MINISTRY, Ravi isn’t one of them.
All valid considerations. My only point was that saying there’s “no evidence” is not accurate.
