Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalm 27: 13-14

THank you all for these wonderful Bible verses.

God’s Word is nurturing and calming in the midst of this chaotic storm.

We will need to be reading His Word a LOT in the coming days and months and years.

I especially like verses 23-25 of Psalm 37: The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

Thanks for reminding me of that Psalm.

Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,

for wisdom and power belong to Him.

He changes the times and seasons;

He removes kings and establishes them.

He gives wisdom to the wise

and knowledge to the discerning.

He reveals the deep and hidden things;

He knows what lies in darkness,

and light dwells with Him. (Daniel 2:20-22)

With this election drama, I’m reminded of Daniel 4:17.

“In order that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, gives it to whomever He will, and sets over it the lowest of men.”

If Trump ends up losing, I think about Daniel’s response to Darius’s new law that imposed the death penalty to anyone praying to God. He gave thanks. Daniel 6:10

“Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.”

And what I’m really praying is to see the power of resurrection. When all hope is gone, I’d love to see the Lord raise up Trump from the ash heap of Pennsylvania’s forged ballots, to a final victory. (no death, no resurrection). Real miracles only happen in the depths of terrible circumstances.

Psalm 139:7-18

7 Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where shall I flee from your presence?
8 If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
9 If I take the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 even there your hand shall lead me,
and your right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me,
and the light about me be night,”
12 even the darkness is not dark to you;
the night is bright as the day,
for darkness is as light with you.

13 For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.[a]
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.

17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 If I would count them, they are more than the sand.
I awake, and I am still with you.

You're very welcome. Freepers are reminding me of encouraging passages that I had long forgotten.

This one in particular puts our current situation in perspective.

This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

Most excellent reference. The verse preceding: 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

A scholar from long ago: David Lipscomb on “wiles”: ..acts or means of cunning deception; something as a ruse or stratagem, by which he is enable to trick or deceive. The idea here is that the devil does not carry on an open warfare.

Continued: He does not meet the Christian soldier face to face. Hence the necessity of being constantly armed to meet him whenever the attack is made. He presents the world in an alluring aspect; invites to pleasures that seem to be harmless, and leads in indulgence until we have gone so far that we cannot retreat. (Gospel Advocate commentary; p. 126)

Thank you for that reference.
