Now, along comes Pope Francis, who blesses the sex act, calling it a divine gift. He also praises the pleasures of eating as from God. I don't think he is necessarily wrong about this. Enjoying and being thankful for sexual intimacy within the context of marriage IS a gift from God as is eating delicious food provided by God's creation. The "sin" part is in the WRONG or Biblically proscribed use of them.
At the rate hes going, hell whittle down those Seven Deadly Sins to just one or two.
Well, those "Seven Deadly Sins" are not explicitly in the Bible and did not even originate with the Greeks or Romans, there were ancient precedents for them.
Origin of the currently recognized seven deadly sins The modern concept of the seven deadly sins is linked to the works of the fourth-century monk Evagrius Ponticus, who listed eight evil thoughts in Greek as follows:[8][9]
- Γαστριμαργία (gastrimargia) gluttony
- Πορνεία (porneia) prostitution, fornication
- Φιλαργυρία (philargyria) avarice (greed)
- Λύπη (lypē) sadness in the Philokalia, this term is rendered as envy, sadness at another's good fortune
- Ὀργή (orgē) wrath
- Ἀκηδία (akēdia) acedia in the Philokalia, this term is rendered as dejection
- Κενοδοξία (kenodoxia) boasting
- Ὑπερηφανία (hyperēphania) pride sometimes rendered as self-overestimation, arrogance, grandiosity [10]
They were translated into the Latin of Western Christianity (largely due to the writings of John Cassian),[11][12] thus becoming part of the Western tradition's spiritual pietas (or Catholic devotions), as follows:[13] - Gula (gluttony)
- Luxuria/Fornicatio (lust, fornication)
- Avaritia (avarice/greed)
- Tristitia (sorrow/despair/despondency)
- Ira (wrath)
- Acedia (sloth)
- Vanagloria (vainglory)
- Superbia (pride, hubris)
These "evil thoughts" can be categorized into three types:[13]
There's not much I agree with Pope Francis about, but I don't think we should just knee-jerk reject everything he supposedly says especially when related by a secular writer.

"... Sex and Eating Are 'Divine' Pleasures Sent by God..." "Eating" is a form of sex...isn't it?😎

And Catholics keep trying to tell me that Catholicism doesnt teach that sex is bad or sinful and now theres backlash when the pope says it.

But thats not because virginity is somehow inherently more virtuous than sex.
God was the one who said that it was not good for man to be alone and who created woman for him.
Sex was also Gods idea and He blessed it.

I don’t think “sadness” really qualifies as a sin. It should be envy, in that spot, not sadness. Sadness at another’s good fortune, or even happiness at another’s bad fortune, might qualify, but not just plain sadness by itself. Envy is all around us, especially among women, and is deadly.

Hah. And he thinks logically, without food and sex there would be no humanity
