I don't think God directs what we do or don't do...HE could if HE wanted to...but we have free will...

I will say that some get away with sin, but most people do not...

if you are a druggie, an alcoholic, glutinous, promiscuous, male or female, or engage in abnormal "practices" I think you set yourself up for bad things health wise, let alone what it does to your soul...

36 “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

- Jn 3:36

God’s wrath is on the unbeliever right now, although many are unaware.

Meh. People always blame 'God's Wrath' for this sort of thing.

1000 years ago, Wulfstan was blaming God for pestilence and Viking raids in the 'Sermo Lupi ad Anglos'. Nothing changes.

Leofan men, gecnawað þæt soð is: ðeos worold is on ofste, and hit nealæcð þam ende, and þy hit is on worolde aa swa leng swa wyrse; and swa hit sceal nyde for folces synnan ær Antecristes tocyme yfelian swyþe, and huru hit wyrð þænne egeslic and grimlic wide on worolde.

People said Hurricane Katrina was God’s wrath on the gays in New Orleans.
Except that the areas of the city that
got the least damage are where most gays live...the French Quarter & downtown. And what about the Mississippi Gulf Coast? It was wiped off the map. There are many more straight people on the coast than gays.
So I guess God missed.

Amos 3:6 (ESV): Does disaster come to a city,
unless the Lord has done it?

Absolutely. Human nature to blame something for disasters, I suppose. All religions have a line in this sort of thing.

Governors are their states Leaders....to Govern and oversee their states affairs including disasters. When they refuse the tools they're required to have in reserve a certain degree of blame rests with them.

After all we've all been told to have a ‘reserve’ of food and provision in our homes “in case” of emergencies. So to the states.....the gov. is there when these have been exhausted and further assistance is needed otherwise.

The same was with 9/ll and other natural disasters....that said, this is different as the nation is affected by a silent killer people need to be informed about as it changes it’s turf daily.

“God’s wrath is on the unbeliever right now, although many are unaware.”

I think many are unaware of specifics, but they have a general sense of it. I think this hysteria we see is the response of a Godless and guilty people.

Do the nay-sayers have any better explanation?

Jorge Bergoglio does; he claims it's Nature's wrath for we humans polluting "her".

I agree. Romans chapter 1 states that the reprobate know they deserve death. Yet they operate in blissful defiance, ignoring the wrath to come, the realization of the wrath that has been hanging over them, waiting to fall at death, when it is time to pay.
