Suspension of Christian church services might have been one of China’s top priorities with this bioweapon.

religious faith is not a suicide pact (unless someone’s an IslamoNazi terrorist)
I hope the Russian church will reconsider how it performs its sacraments to make things as safe as possible for its parishioners
it is already risky just to have a large crowd of people all in one space, building
let’s not make things even more dangerous?

Some of the greatest scientists in the world are Russian, whatever the other problems the Russians have. They can explain to the Archimandrite why this is necessary.

I can respect that. It means this man actually believes his doctrine. As the Indian chief said in “Outlaw Josie Wales” There is iron in his words.

Agree with him entirely. One of the worst things about this virus (or actually, the hysteria surrounding it) has been the abandonment of the faithful by the Church. Its appalling and it affects not only Catholics but everybody else who is looking for sanity and stability.
The weakness and downright treachery of the Catholic Church is responsible for a lot of the hysteria.

And which country is hardest hit?
There are dots in need of being connected.

Rephrased questions:
Where is the EARTHLY HQ of the Catholic Church?
And which EUROPEAN country is hardest hit?
When the Supreme Pontiff capitulates to depriving the faithful of the Sacraments he is hardly worthy to be a successor to Gregory the Great, who led penitential processions through Rome during the plague, and even less worthy to be a successor to the hieromartyr Popes who preceded Gregorious Magnus.

As you know this is the eve of the universal commemoration of Gregory the Great...the sanctoral calendars of Catholic, Orthodox, and Anglican/Episcopal all celebrate his Feast on March 12.
There is much which we should learn from his hallowed life; especially how to respond to epidemics and how to repel barbarian invasions.

He also quoted holy fathers who said that the world was based on celebrating Liturgy and Eucharist. "If the Liturgy ceases, if it is prohibited to celebrate the Liturgy, what will make the world go on, what will make the core of our lives?" he wonders. Echoes of the Martyrs of Abilene who said:
"We cannot live without Sunday!
