"Other church leaders were warned by the pope that the church doesn’t enjoy the authority it once did anymore, proposing they should stimulate followers to be more inclusive of other religions."

This is flat out blasphemy and pagan idolatry. God destroyed Israel for just this type of mindset.

I’m actually no fan of the Pope, but there is some truth to the comment. I’ve seen it.

I moved from Seattle to the bible belt (I live in south central rural KY now). I joined a southern gospel band that plays on invitation at a bunch of local small churches, mostly baptist. The amount of religious dogma I’ve come up against here is shocking.

People KNOW things that the bible simply does not support, but they will fight for their beliefs tooth an nail, and yet can not support them biblically.

A guy at a large church in the area that has a lot of christian college professors explained it to me thusly:

Regarding the nuances of Christianity, the more a person knows about the bible and its history, they less sure they are about their own personal opinions on any of these issues.

i.e., the more you know, the less likely you are to be dogmatic about your beliefs.

Dogmatism is holding on, vigilantly, to beliefs you can not actually support. There is a lot of that down here. And yes, there is plenty of hatred sparked by it. It’s a real shame.

I was raised catholic and became an evangelical Christian 30 some years ago. All I can say is that this guy is insane.

To quote Charlie Daniels, he probably has a commie flag tacked up on the wall inside of his garage.

but what that means in real world terms isn't always well defined.

What the Pope means in real world terms is always nicely UNDEFINED. It can usually be taken one of two ways...that is, two at a minimum.

The Pope seems to really love sowing confusion. That reminds me of another Biblical figure.

Maybe if Jesus hadn’t been so ridged they wouldn’t have hated and crucified Him.

Very sure the persecuted Christians in Bethlehem are at fault for their very presence in a Palestinian controlled area.

Or in Mosul. Or Syria. Or Iran. Iraq. China? Nigeria, Kenya?

Perhaps the Christians should just go away because it is not so much their preaching that offends, but the fact of their existence.

Hatred is fueled by the Godless Left. They hate Christians the most, because the Object of our Faith shines a piercing light on their dark, depraved souls, and they can’t stand it.

Absolutely spot on. Darkness cannot exist where there is light.

Interesting comment. But could you give some examples of the things people in your area and experience (in KY) know that the Bible does not support?

... Does the heresy get overruled by papal infallibility

My pitiful understanding...
The Holy Spirit would directly intervene and prevent this from happening

... The Pope said that the church does not have the authority it once did

“Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory Forever”
It is not the “Church’s’ Authority” it never was
If His People have any authority, it is on loan...

Yes. The left is famous for twisting language and terms and twisting them into the opposite meaning of normal use. They do it to hide their evil intents. They make is “sound” OK.

They support the Great Evil!

Pope Francis has blasted conservative Christians who pursue their faith too “rigidly” cautioning their “rigid outlook” is developing a “minefield of misunderstanding and hatred.”

God's character is the standard of value. God's character is immutable, incorrigible, fixed, and absolute. "There are no absolutes" is subjectivism and relativism. In an irrational society subjectivism and relativism means anything goes.

..l Dogmatism is holding on, vigilantly, to beliefs you can not actually support

That is why one must follow Jesus as the great example
Jesus Himself, when faced with disagreement,
Applied always to the Scriptures as the Law

So that confirms it. There are such a thing as “bitter clingers”, right pope? Perhaps some SJWs can help jihadis identify as catholics to shake your hand. What’s under your robe...IUD or IED.

This guy doesn’t even know what the Gospel is judging by his daily attacks on the religion he supposedly represents.

It’s comparable to a conservative setting the Constitution on fire.
