Pope Francis considers adding ‘ecological sin’ to Catholic Church Catechism

Pope Francis is considering adding ‘ecological sin’ to the official teachings of the Catholic Church.

He said there are plans to update the Catechism of the Catholic Church to include environmental damages that risk “the common home” of humanity.

The spiritual leader called on the global community to recognise ecocide as a “fifth category of crime against peace” and stressed corporations must not go unpunished if they cause harm to the planet.

He said the term ‘ecocide’ covers “the massive contamination of air, land and water resources, the large-scale destruction of flora and fauna and any action capable of producing an ecological disaster or destroying an ecosystem.”

In his speech, Pope Francis also warned against the dangers of certain people adopting “actions typical of Nazism” and persecuting “Jews, gypsies and people of homosexual orientation”.

So, a priest can boink the alter boy - - - not a sin.
But I start my car and it’s a sin?
Boy, my Catholic Church not only left me, it did it on a Saturn V.

Always remember that the difference between a Jesuit and a Protestant is that the Protestant clearly states that they are not Catholic.

The agnostic pope embraces neo pagan earth worship.

You shouldn’t alter an altar boy.

I wish I were Catholic, so when I went to confession, I could spring that on the priest:

“Father, I have contributed to the massive contamination of air, land and water resources, the large-scale destruction of flora and fauna and I have done actions capable of producing an ecological disaster or destroying an ecosystem.”

I wonder what the penance would be for that?

C’mon, let’s not go into the other extreme. The Catholic church condemns every priest who abuses altar boys and is trying hard to clean house ( and no, I’m not Catholic ).

“Is the Pope Catholic?” is no longer a rhetorical question.

Everyone take a chill pill.

Our One True Church wrote the Bible and the Catholic Church alone can decide what is in it and what it means.

Further, we can add any tradition and make it equal to Scripture.

Recently, we added Saint Mother Earth statuary, from the Amazon religions.

This statue can now be venerated and within a few short years, will be included in the sacred tradition of our new Amazonian Rite.

These pagan traditions are sanctified by our church - which is where we got much we Catholics consider sacred tradition.

That we now back up veneration of Saint Mother Earth with specific actions and requirements is perfectly normal.

If you do not toe the line, you’ve sinned.

Isn’t he against “integrism”? Why should he impose his morality on humanity?

Don’t worry, if you commit ecological sin, you can just said five “Our Al Gore”’s and ten “Hail Greta”’s to do your penance.

Some of these gaia-worshippers are simply nihilists, but others are strange Munchausen syndrome victims, are even Munchausen By Proxy instigators. Munchausen’s of both types are at the root of political correctness.

That said, Il Papa may simply be evil.

It may well be an issue,
as a breach in stewardship of God’s Creation

But he is calling out a sin in others without addressing forcefully
the horrible moral decay in the Catholic Church
While sitting on the Chair of Peter
As the Vicar of Christ

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

If one would declare that by Loving and Honoring The Lord Thy God,
one is bound to honor and if possible protect His Creation, in Stewardship,
then I would probably give him a pass,

but that is not the direction he is taking.

The pope should be paying attention to God and his work, not political correctness.
