Why was Pope JP II a saint? He presided over the largest apostasy in the history of the Church, where the liturgy, the Sacraments, the catechesis were trashed and millions of souls left the sacramental life and tens of thousands of priests and nuns left religious life. His writings were confusing and did not address the errors and problems of the times.
Is it just hopeful magical thinking that makes him John Paul the Great?
