I don't know ANY of the hymns these days. Our pianist/organist is fabulous but he has to do what the Pastor wants...and I'm NOT thrilled about him.

No, the Pastor is assigned by the Archbishop.
Nowadays, because of the shortage of priests our Pastor will only serve here three-six years, then will move on.

Before becoming a priest our pastor was an attorney. He, like so many attorneys LOVE to hear themselves talk and talk and talk and talk and talk and talk ...

Most of the congregation snoozes after the first fifteen minutes.
One week we had to listen to the wonderfulness of the single cell...for the ENTIRE homily.

But! He was an attorney and they know everything and now he is a priest and ... sorry, YAWNS are overwhelming me.
One of the sharper parishioners said that Father Yakkity-Yak will give up the priesthood before too long.
He will be rotated out in another three years anyway.

This is an honest question. I'm simply ignorant on this. Do Catholics believe that Mary is an intercessor to Christ or God - or both? Not trying to stir things up here...
