The best way is to do what the Eastern Rite Catholic Churches do,require that the man be married first,build his family up,and if after enough discernment,if called by God to go to the seminary to become a priest, do so.

Marriage is for life, until death do us part. I have been married to my first and only wife since we were kids.

A great uncle of mine was a Catholic and played around, had a child on the side and left his wife. My understanding is he was excommunicated.

Should a priest marry and choose to separate, then excommunication would be in order, as he would have broken that vow.

Something must be done to solve this homo/molesting issue. We cannot just sit around thinking it’s awful to do something to a priest for being naughty. These bastards are evil monsters doing the Devil’s work and need to be dealt with. There’s nothing complex about this.

Two things need to be done. First bring out into the open existing offenders and charge them like any other suspected criminal.

Second, take proactive steps to prevent further molesting.
