About 40 bishops and ordinaries of sui iuris Eastern Catholic Churches gathered at the Vatican from September 12-14, 2019. Received in audience by the Supreme Pontiff, approved a project to construct the first official sanctuary dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima in St. Petersburg, in the heart of Russia.
The first sanctuary officially dedicated by the Catholic Church to the Virgin of Fatima will soon see the light of day in Russia, more than a century after the apparitions of Our Lady in Portugal. The information has been confirmed from Siberia by the Apostolic Administrator of Novosibirsk, Bishop Joseph Werth.
Surprising as it may seem from a Catholic view, the Orthodox confessions are not opposed to this project. Many Russians have a great devotion to Our Lady of Fatima, who interceded for the conversion of Russia during the Communist persecution, as Fr. Alejandro Burgos, a Spanish priest exercising his apostolate in St. Petersburg.
To promote the devotion to Our Lady of Fatima to the Easterners, Fr. Burgos had an icon depicting the Virgin made with the quotation: It is in you that unity is realized. May the Virgin of Fatima indeed hasten the return of the Eastern Orthodox to Catholic unity, in the same faith and the one Church founded on Peter.
The future sanctuary which will house the icon will be dedicated to the Byzantine Rite.

This is big! This gives me hope. One step on the way to World Peace, as Our Lady promised.

Here we go again...
Amazing how those who have been denied the word of God hunger for it.
Yes, it appears that’s it. On the left there is something about image of our unity and on the right it says Fatimskia.
More officially sanctioned idolatry.
Now, contrast that with the Word.
4There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; 5one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. Eph 4:4-6 NASB
No mention of "being in unity" with Mary.
this is awesome! Thanks for the ping.
Our Lady of Fatima, Pray for Us!!
More officially sanctioned idolatry. >>>
why do you have to post and bother us.
Still love you, regardless.
We see a Blessed Mother pointing to her Divine Son and Savior, and saying, "Do whatever He tells you."
I’d be more ready to believe that if I wasn’t accused of all kinds of wickedness for the sin of ignoring Mary in favor of Jesus.
I’ll happily accept that’s what you believe, but I don’t think that’s what others believe.
Its an open forum. If the comments upset you the caucus threads are available where no one will disagree with you unless you support your current pope.
While Mary may point to Jesus it is the Roman Catholic who points to Mary often in lieu of Christ. Montfort and Ligouri testify to this in their writings.
If calling idolatrous practices is an insult then so be it. By these standards Paul insulted a lot of folks in his day.
God called her "Blessed among women."
She was blessed to be chosen to bear Messiah.
Catholics have taken that simple blessing and made her into a demigoddess, with all kinds of titles and powers God never gave her.
"Ignoring Mary in favor of Jesus" is not synonymous with honoring Jesus. Quite the contrary.
Jesus honored Mary, all His life, because He obeyed all the Commandments in a most perfect way: "Honor your father and your mother."
Scripture says "all generations" will call her blessed. It also says "Give honor to whom honor is due."
And it also says we are her children!
"The dragon became angry with the woman and went away to do battle against the rest of her children, the ones who keep Gods commandments and hold on to the testimony about Jesus." (Revelation 12:17)
The more I am immersed n the Word, the more I am fascinated by what Scripture reveals, from Genesis to Revelation, about this enemy of the Serpent, this full-of-grace Lady, His mother and ours.
