I love Ravi Zacharias. I have met him on several occasions - even dined with him, drove him around, spent time with him. He prayed for me and my family. One of the most powerful minds and sweetest of men I have ever met.
2 Corinthians, Chapter 2 will also change your world.
He is one of my major heroes.
When I think of people who are filled with the Holy Spirit, he is the first person I think of.
[Exactly- this is Satans Domain for now- He runs the show here on earth within limits of Gods allowances]
Yes. That old serpent called the Devil and Satan will not officially be dethroned until the Battle of Armageddon has occurred and is finished.
Regarding Salvation, Satan was defeated at the Cross on Calvary.
But his Earthly reign continues. That’s why the Apostle Paul called him “the god of this world”.
When he is not speaking publicly, and you talk to him one-on-one, he is very unassuming and almost shy. One of the persons in our party was not yet a believer, but honestly searching. He asked Ravi a question while we were driving.
He treated the question with great respect and care. After a short pause, he began to answer the man, and it was like the floodgates opened. All of sudden, profound truths and lyrical insights just flooded the car. He interspersed Biblical truth with real world stories, and I could see the other man's heart soften.
I saw the same thing time and again when meeting with people. He was very gentle with people, but when the Scriptures or Christ came under attack by a nonbeliever, he wasn't timid in his defense. A couple of narcissistic questioners thought they could lecture and corner him - and he destroyed their arguments into tatters. But then he invited them to come see him after the lecture so they could talk further.
The Spirit is with him.
For me, the naturalistic arguments for existence hold no weight when you consider the mind of a human being.
To what end/purpose are humans capable of contemplating their existence and eternality, if the atheist argument, i.e. life is purposeless and there is no design, is true?
I missed that. Perhaps you're aware that Hugh's VP and sidekick, Dr. Fazale "Fuz" Rana, is as well.
Your brief argument is but one of a vast multitude of cogent arguments for the God of the Bible. I've had the very great privilege of knowing Hugh personally and learning at his feet for forty years, and his exposition of such Reasons to Believe has made my faith and walk dramatically deeper and fuller.
To clarify: Fuz is a Muslin turned Christian. I’ve heard his testimony.
For me, the greatest non-scriptural argument for Christ's deity is the existence of the Church itself.
Jesus set forth testable, verifiable assertions. He said he would die and after three days and then rise.
All of the false gospels and cults that persist, e.g. Mormonism, Islam, the Jehovah's Witnesses, rely upon unverifiable, unfalsifiable claims. Usually of a miraculous but unproven sort that revolve around an angelic encounter.
Every cult built around a false Messiah dies with that man or woman. Even Chabad had to abandon their claims of Menachem Schneerson's divine nature once his death proved that he was a false prophet.
OTOH, belief in Christ blossomed and spread AFTER his death. The only rational explanation is that he actually did resurrect from the grave.
Well stated. Thanks.
