The reason for the beauty of a Catholic church is to glorify God with the very best man has to offer. A Catholic church is not a recital hall, it is a house of prayer and worship. Sacred music concerts may be done because they glorify Our Lord. Different churches have different thoughts on the matter.

And one always reads about how priests take a vow of poverty.

Priests in Orders take a vow of poverty and live in community on very little. Priests who function in the world in a parish have a salary from which they pay taxes, health care, car payment, car insurance, etc.

$760 million in the bank buys a lot of godly patience. At 82 no less.

There is someone who truly idolizes money over God. If the interviewer was rude, that’s okay. She’ll get a chance to apologize to him in hell.

You flew right past the word I used, 'opulent' which is different from 'beauty'.

Different churches have different thoughts on the matter.

No disagreement there.

God’s grace and mercy and maybe subconsciously or by the spirit you might have suspected that the math was in your favor but fear had clouded your thinking so that you thought the worse!

Like the Temple which David had built, gold vessels were used in the worship of the Israelites , so are vessels of gold (or gold plate) used in a Catholic church solely for the worship of Almighty God.

Everything's cool. I knew somebody would take me on, I really don't want to get into a big ol' argument on a 'Religion' thread.

I said something about Kenneth Copeland, then I said something about Joel Osteen, someone said something about the Catholic church and I agreed.

I have no problem with you, if you want to have a problem with me, by all means do so. I'm too tired to do any more of this tonight. 8~)

The church is not Israel, nor did Christ use gold vessels at the Lord's Supper.

The guy is possessed and it’s so clear in that video.

The girl did a great job and he was really rattled.

He was very good at deflecting and not answering the questions, too.

WHO are the people giving them money? I wouldn’t spit in an envelope and send it to him.

I have actually met some people who think he's the end all and be all of Christianity.

I would not be surprised in the least to find out they had sent him *seed money* to get back ten fold or one hundred fold.

did you watch the video? the man is amazing. godly patience in the presence of someone who was trying to be rude. watch the clip and judge for yourself

He's an unhinged lunatic who is barely able to restrain his anger. And him pointing his finger and virtually snarling at that girl over the humans are demons question.....

You think that's GODLY PATIENCE??????

It was more like demonic rage.

Your opinion, but the video tells it all.

And his reactions are his own doing.

Were you there? Where is that stated in the Gospel? You might be thinking Indiana Jones.

The Passover Meal was not conducted with gold vessels.

The reason for the beauty of a Catholic church is to glorify God with the very best man has to offer.

The best man has to offer is as filthy rags in God's sight. that's a lousy excuse to try to justify a lavish lifestyle for church leaders. It's no different than what the televangelist hucksters pull.

And besides, God is not interested in things. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills. The whole world belongs to Him.

What he wants is this.....

Micah 6:6-8 “With what shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before God on high? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?

Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?”

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

I’ve always thought this guy was a nut. He seemed a bit demented years ago.

No kidding. He's from what I like to call the "Church of the Blow Dried Saints." People like him and, what was that guy's name? Oh yeah, Robert Tilton. What Charlatans !
