I’ve walked around it.

Amazing that it is made up of hexagonal columns of rock.

(And GoogleEarth shows that it is NOT like it was represented in the movie - Close Encounters of the Third Kind.)

Amazing indeed. “Some” scientists think Devils Tower, and others, are just lava flows. I don’t buy it. I don’t think lava flows, make perfect hexagonal columns like that. If indeed these are giant tree stumps, from ante diluvian times, my only question is, who chopped them down? The titans maybe? I think the ante diluvian world, and the post diluvian world, were as different as night and day. Noah and his family, are the only witnesses, who saw both worlds. No wonder Noah drank. 😁🤣😆
Here is the thing, however. The powers that be, have a vested interest in covering all this stuff up. If they didn’t, then they would have to admit the Biblical account is true, and it would blow the theory of evolution out of the water, and they can’t have that.

That’s the only thing you didn’t believe about that? LOL

I’m not a ‘scientist’; so, I’ve got that going for me.

... my only question is, who chopped them down?

One of my questions is: Why is it so flat on top?

Surely the outer edges would be more susceptible to erosion; thereby having a higher spot in the middle.

It appears to flake off vertically, as the base is littered with big chunks of column material with large spaces underneath them. Seems like gravel should fall from the top and/or sand/dust/earth blow in from the surrounding flatland to fill in the hollows.
