There is 'No Mention of Jesus In History', Claims Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan

The prime minister of Pakistan, a tenuous U.S. ally, contends Jesus was not a historical figure, reports Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin.

The Middle East Media Research Institute reported Prime Minister Imran Kahn made the assertion in a speech on the day marked as the birthday of Muhammad.

Khan also lobbied for a worldwide law that would protect Islam from any criticism.

The prime minister said there is little mention of prophets of Allah other than Muhammad, and there is “no mention of Jesus in history.”

“Moses is mentioned, but there is no mention of Jesus in history,” he said. “But the entire life of Muhammad, who was Allah’s last prophet, is part of history.”

Khan said the West should understand Muslims’ love for Muhammad and that freedom of speech is not a legitimate reason to criticize somebody’s religion, according to MEMRI.

The comments came as he confirmed his government “is spearheading efforts to get countries to sign onto the “International Convention on Preventing the Defamation of Religions.”

That document states “freedom of speech is an insufficient pretext for hurting the world’s Muslims,” MEMRI said.

Khan claimed that Islam is the foundation of Western civilization.

“Today’s [great] civilization, the West, learned from the Muslims in Spain. They started reading. Aristotle and Greek philosophies reached Europe through Muslims, and then European civilization rose,” he claimed.

“Every few years, in some Western country, our dear prophet is blasphemed against and dishonored. What is the consequence of this? Muslims become angry. We take to the streets in protest, [protesters] break things in our country. But what does it achieve? It enables the enemies of Muslims to tell people in the West: ‘See, Islam is a big religion that spreads violence.’ They get an opportunity to spread propaganda against Islam.”

Hey he sounds like an uneducated Liberal! Maybe that’s why the violent muslims get along well with the libtards.

This is actually a strange thing for a Muslim to say, because in Islam, Jesus is regarded as a great prophet and a precursor to Mohammed. Islam denies Jesus' divinity, but certainly not his existence.

In fact, I even recall reading about cases where religious authorities in Muslim countries punish attacks on Jesus as blasphemy. Some sects of Islam, like the Syrian Alawites, even observe Christian holidays. Of course, this isn't universal, since what a religion teaches in theory and its practice are often two very different things.

The writings by Flavious Joceifus documents it.
First Century Jewish scholar.
He was called “The Teacher” in his writings.

The laugh is that Jesus is mentioned several times in the Koran, albeit the Koranic version.

RE: So I guess the Bible is fiction and the Quran is fact????

That’s what The Prime Minister is trying to drive at.

The only problem is this — The Quran ALSO MENTIONS Jesus. In fact, the Quran mentions Jesus MORE TIMES than it mentions Muhammad.

By making this dumb statement, he is in effect saying that the Quran is making false statements as well !

No. Further proof of what a stupid moron W. was for kissing Musharraf's ass instead of bringing him to his knees, and seizing all Pakistan's nukes.

The right to freedom of thought is being reduced everywhere. And I mean everywhere.

So...

We think that sort of “worldwide law” is repulsive, and crazy.
Our children will have mixed feelings about it. (Media influence at work.)
Our grandchildren will accept it as the normal state of things.

There’s more than a little irony in the penultimate book burners complaining about the lack of an historical record, even if it were true.

Maybe if your predecessors didn’t burn to the ground anything and everything that was “unislamic” there’d be more historical record to consult.

“Today’s [great] civilization, the West, learned from the Muslims in Spain. They started reading. Aristotle and Greek philosophies reached Europe through Muslims, and then European civilization rose,” he claimed.

That is actually true. The arabs had preserved those works, lost in Europe, and reintroduced them to scholars in Europe. And the impact of Aristotle on Medieval scholarship cannot be overstated. It was everything.

But that was in the days before the muslim world had a serious internal debate about whether anything that wasn't explicitly in the Quran was worth studying. That was 1,000 years ago and the intellectuals lost to the fundamentalists. Consequently muslims turned away from studying anything other than the Quran. Indeed, they avoided scholarship of anything else because it was potentially blasphemous if they ever observed something that conflicted with the Quran. They turned away from reason and logic, period. A thousand years later, they remain a backwards and ignorant people mired in poverty if not for oil funding their nuttiness and allowing it to spread worldwide.
