It’s like the difference between the OT’s Yahweh and the NT’s God. Good cop and bad cop

Not, there is no "Two cops" in the whole Bible, but a more comprehensive complementary revelation by both the OT and NT.

The past destruction of the world by the Flood in which the world's sinners were destroyed by water, except for a small remnant, becomes the future destruction of the world's sinners physically and future damnation, except for a small relative remnant.

The physical warfare of the OT under a physical theocracy corresponds to the spiritual warfare of the spiritual kingdom of Christ, but whose subjects will yet take part in literally nuking the proxy servants of the devil, and be part of the jury against them in the final judgment.

The judgments prophetically warned of by God and the record of them against Israelites was due to their wickedly departing from God as a nation into long term rank idolatry and its immorality, but which had not universally occurred in ther NT, nor to the degree in backslidden churches, but dire judgment is clearly warned of against apostasy.

The atheistic concept of God as peevish and overbearing, based on a non-contextual and selective reading of the OT, is countered by contextual analysis and the words of those who knew the God of Israel.

And while more grace is shown in Christ, so the call to holiness is more extensive, and with greater accountability. Read the book of Hebrews.

Overall, the past judgments of the OT are typological of the future ones to come, yet physical executions by God in the OT are also seen in the prima NT church. I dare you to show me any instance of the "bad cop"and "good cop" in the OT or NT lacks correspondence bwn the two.

Lots of things will prevent you from entering into the Kingdom of God, they are enumerated multiple places in the New Testament

Only one thing keeps you from entering the kingdom of God, and that is rejection of Jesus.

I have attended services several times at a friend’s nondenominational church. Their pastor is a very gifted speaker.

Every time he gives a sermon my mind flashes back to something the nuns taught me in grade school. That to me confirms that the teaching is Biblical. It cuts across all lines.

Sorry; but logically you can NOT conclude this.

The best you can come up with is that the non-denom guy agreed with whatever the nuns taught you.

You have to actually USE the bible as a reference if you are going to state that 'the teaching is biblical'.

Remember the 'more noble' Bereans?

Acts 17:11 New International Version (NIV)

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica,

for they received the message with great eagerness

and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.
