before I was an evil little middle schooler, mom would inspect our candy. no loose candy like candy corn allowed (rat poison) no fruit (razors) and all wrapped candy was inspected to make sure the wrapper was intact. there were sick SOBs back in the 50s too.

The day has just gotten downright dark to me, so I draw the line earlier than you. We probably agree about the ends. It's how we get there that is more complicated.
