1 John5:13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

Doesn’t the Book kinda give the impression that the John who wrote the above was the ‘disciple that Jesus loved’?

Yes, it was John, the disciple who Jesus loved, who wrote the gospel of John, 1st, 2nd and 3rd John and the book of revelation. 1st John 5:11-13, are some of the verses, among many, that I take to heart. It’s as plain as the nose on your face. 😁 I wonder why some people refuse to believe it? It really is a simple concept. Maybe 1st Corinthians 2:14 applies. “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

I know when I was a member of that other church, which will remain unnamed, I had total spiritual blindness. Things are different now bro. I have spiritual discernment. Now, I am a member, of one of those 80,000 different Protestant Churches, or whatever the number is today. Who knows, it might be 90,000 by tomorrow. I didn’t even know I was a Protestant, until people on FR told me I was. 😇
Since I am a pre tribber, see you in the clouds bro. 👍

I’m not a pretribber, but if that’s the way it turns out I don’t think I’ll complain too much.

Personally i believe the books which so many people use in place of the Bible is the main problem.

Personally, I believe you are correct sir. 😁 No wonder there are so many cults out there. 👎 Some use the Book of Mormon. Some use the New World Translation. Some use the Lamsa translation. Some use the Koran. Some use the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, or Ellen G White. It can get confusing. 😁😇😂

I don’t think any of us will complain bro. Just be ready for the roller coaster ride of your life, that will make Disneyland pale in comparison. 🙏😇🤣😁

See if you can grab a nearby Catholic in each hand.

They may come to faith on the way up!

Ironic that non-Catholics’ criticisms and disagreements against doctrines of Roman Catholicism are seen by them as “personal” insults, hatred and bashing but when Catholics insult, bash and hate on non-Catholics PERSONALLY, it isn’t. Quite a double standard!

The irony is not lost.

And I dare say if we were posting the incessant number of anti-Francis articles or articles exposing the homosexual problem in Roman Catholicism there would be cries of "Roman Catholic" bashing to the owner of the webpage.

Personally I find it kind of annoying that the Roman Catholics on this board are often angrier at us for pointing out the homo/pedo problem than the fact that the problem exists and is being covered up.

They do seem to go out of their way to excuse it with the old, “everyone else is doing it” excuse.

Yes, I can do that, but their faith needs to happen in the twinkle of an eye, so I hope God doesn’t force me to drop them back to earth, on the way up. 🌎 They might get caught between the moon and New York City. 😁

... and the book of revelation.

Where he is shown writing to seven CATHOLIC churches (if we are to believe Rome's spin here.)

I’ve the feeling I’ll be a pre-tribber.

In that I’ll be long dead before any of the 3 options occur.

It didn’t take long for those 7 Catholic Churches to go off the rails, did it?

Spurious cultic religions have really gone off the rails
Over their spiritual eyes, is a blindness like fishy scales
Ever in the dark
Their plight is stark
Not seeking the truth, they want cleverly devised fairy tales.

Understandable assumption, but I’m not a Buddhist.

I’m the Christian Buddha.

The one with a shirt. Also, I’m not dead yet.

Barlaam and Josaphat (Latin: Barlamus et Iosaphatus) are legendary Christian martyrs and saints. Their life story may have been based on the life of the Gautama Buddha.[1] It tells how an Indian king persecuted the Christian Church in his realm. When astrologers predicted that his own son would some day become a Christian, the king imprisoned the young prince Josaphat, who nevertheless met the hermit Saint Barlaam and converted to Christianity. After much tribulation the young prince's father accepted the Christian faith, turned over his throne to Josaphat, and retired to the desert to become a hermit. Josaphat himself later abdicated and went into seclusion with his old teacher Barlaam.[2] The tale derives from a second to fourth century Sanskrit Mahayana Buddhist text, via a Manichaean version, then the Arabic Kitab Bilawhar wa-Yudasaf (Book of Bilawhar and Yudasaf), current in Baghdad in the eighth century, from where it entered into Middle Eastern Christian circles before appearing in European versions. The two were entered in the Eastern Orthodox calendar with a feast-day on 26 August,[3] and in the Roman Martyrology in the Western Church as "Barlaam and Josaphat" on the date of 27 November.[4]

Some use the Book of Mormon.

You sure named them, not to mention all of the books written telling us what each scripture in the real Bibles means.

In most cases i think if we do not know the exact meaning of a particular scripture we might be better just to guess and ignore the self proclaimed experts.

ACCORDING to The Bible, GOD has given us teachers, so ignoring everyone when you get stuck on a passage is ... stupid. Comparative study is included in ‘study to show yourself approved.’
