Certainly they contain God's truth...just not all of it. Ok....what's not included?
If it is His truth, why hasn't Rome declared it to be canon?

"Ok....what's not included? All of science.
"If it is His truth, why hasn't Rome declared it to be canon?"
Because "Rome" knows that "the canon" is scripture, and there is truth outside of it. As did the Jews.

Science is not required for salvation or knowing God.

‘Scripture contains all we need to know of how to be saved and how to have a relationship with God and others.’
and that constitutes the entirety of ‘truth’ in life...?
To: ealgeone
‘You are aware that PAUL wrote this letter TO Timothy....right?’
Biblical experts pretty much dispute that...

‘Because “Rome” knows that “the canon” is scripture, and there is truth outside of it. As did the Jews.’
as does anybody with two functioning brain cells in his/her head...
To: ealgeone
‘Science is not required for salvation or knowing God’
so everything not connected to ‘salvation’ or ‘knowing God’ is untrue...?that’s basically the argument you’re pushing...

Yes, I've seen those arguments and I've seen arguments in favor of Paul.
I'm going with the later as it is what we have.

Good grief. Roman Catholics sure seem to go out of their way to diminish the very book they claim to have given us.

"Science is not required for salvation or knowing God." But science is true, and therefore "of God" despite not appearing in Scripture. The Universe is a big place and also true, again not in Scripture.

"Good grief. Roman Catholics sure seem to go out of their way to diminish the very book they claim to have given us. And your approach diminishes GOD. God is all that is true, and all that is true is of God, despite not appearing in Scripture.

Possible we will have another pope to shepherd the church through the Tribulation? Peter the Roman never seemed to fit this one. (Saint Malachy prophecy)

Good thing we have a spare. If Francis gets removed, Benedict XVI could come back. Or, if they really feel the need, they could have a conclave and choose a third Pope. Keep trying until they get a good one.Best idea yet. I suggested Izzy or his dad or son on another thread. Maybe all three. They are as young and spry as Benedict.

"Get thee behind me, Francis."
oh wait...

Pope Francis long-winded letter about the child sex abuse issue did not win many friends among the Catholic hierarchy. He needs to step down. #EchoHomo
