Scripture never claims to be the “only source of truth,” since that would place it above God himself. It also would mean that logic itself isn’t a source of truth, which would make any position on any topic — yours included — impossible to defend.
All Truth is God’s, so yes, they contain God’s Truth, but they do not contain ALL of God’s truth. Gasoline is the proper fuel for most internal combustion engines. That is true. It also isn’t in the Bible. Unless one resorts to more extreme Rabbinical means of exegesis.
Good grief....no wonder Rome has problems.
16All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NASB
Mormons and Muslims make the same argument.

Good grief....Roman Catholic apologetics are some of the weakest I've ever encountered.
Scripture contains all we need to know of how to be saved and how to have a relationship with God and others.
When you place faith in a false prophet and false doctrine, let downs are to be expected.
But are scripture commentaries good source of help?
Disgusting homosexualist pope.
bump
The bible is very clear about the roles and responsibilities of the Pope.
There isn’t much of a point in having a discussion with anyone who hasn’t learned the importance of words like all, only, some, and none, doesn’t define terms carefully, and ignores what has been said.
Have a nice day. I’ll say an Ave for you.
Maybe Campion has more time to spare than I.
Well yes, Timothy says Scripture is useful, like a hammer is useful to carpentry, but like carpentry it doesnt say it is all that is needed for salvation. Heck it doesnt even mention salvation, but I do see “good works” mentioned.
Not that good works will get you anywhere, right? So what was considered “Scripture” at the time of writing? Cant be anything NT since those books were not established and recognized at the time. Did Timothy consinder this letter he was righting as Scripture. Probably not. hmmm....
When Scripture says "the heavens proclaim the glory of God, and the firmament proclaims his handiwork," it explicitly says that the created order testifies to the nature of God, and thereby points to a source of "God's truth" outside itself, proving your original contention wrong.
RE: The bible is very clear about the roles and responsibilities of the Pope.
Can you refer us to the passage?
Which is NOT what you originally claimed. Your theology seems not to be very coherent once you get past Axiom #1, "The Catholics are always wrong"

Before this is over it will be shown that JPII also allowed the homos to run rampant.
I pray it was “merely” poor administrative skills and not something worse.
Yeah, that statement seems man-made; unbiblical
JP II inherited a mess.
Once again I click on an article only to find the discussion about the subject of the article overshadowed by an enormous inter-denominational pissing contest.
It’s a broken record.
