Catholic LGBT group rejected by event pope will attend in Dublin (World Meeting of Families)

An organisation representing LGBT Catholics around the world has been denied permission for a stall at the World Meeting of Families in Dublin, which Pope Francis is attending on 25 August.

The Global Network of Rainbow Catholics, which represents 60 organisations, has been told that due to “logistical considerations” it has not been allocated a booth in the gathering’s exhibition hall.

The WMF, an international event held by the Roman Catholic church every three years, opens in Dublin next Monday. Pope Francis will spend 36 hours in Ireland attending events.

The GNRC was told only in the past few days that it had been rejected.

Ruby Almeida, a co-chair of the GNRC, said she was saddened and frustrated by the decision. “I think it’s the usual thing that goes on – the church publicly says it’s welcoming [to LGBT people and organisations] but pressure is brought to bear on the organisers."

In addition, a video by David O’Connell, the auxiliary bishop of Los Angeles, was edited to remove his statement that all families, including gay families, were welcome at the event.

However, the gathering will be addressed by Father James Martin, an American Jesuit priest and vocal advocate for LGBT rights.

The Irish Society for Christian Civilisation is appealing for signatories to a petition urging Archbishop Martin to disinvite Fr Martin, arguing that he is “well known for his dissent from church teaching on sexual morality” and that any address will “cast a shadow” over the WMF. Nearly 11,000 people have backed the petition.

Leo Varadkar, the Irish taoiseach, has said he will raise the issue of same-sex marriage and LGBT rights with the pope when he meets him next weekend.

The usual mixed message: Fr. James (Bridge to Perdition) Martin will be there; "Rainbow Families" will not.

Taoiseach (Irish Prime Minister) Leo Varadkar will "push" on "Gay" "Marriage" (I call it "Gay Mirage"); Cardinal Farrell ("Uncle Ted" McCarrick's protege and former apartment-mate) will be there presumably to .. uh, represent the life of Virtue? OMG.

And --- unmentioned in this article --- a whole counter-conference, supporting true marriage and organized by true Catholics, and co-sponsored by Chastity-advocates like Courage, will be run simultaneously elsewhere in Dublin.

And just think, Divine Providence has been pleased to arrange for us to be alive, here and now, at such a time as this.

Letting homosexual James Martin say a word at the meeting of families, is a travesty. He wants unrependent homosexuals to receive communion, he wants any mention of sodomites taken out of the Catechism and he wants the Catholic Church to recognize and allow queer “marriage”. Since this heretic is one of Bergoglio’s top advisors, dont be surprised if the Vatican goes back in their decision and allows a booth for the perverts.

When I think of the RC Bishops, which include their Pope & Cardinals dealing with homosexuality, a number of sayings come to mind..

"The blind can't lead the blind."
"The chickens are coming home to roost."
"A camel won't be content getting just his nose under the tent."

I haven't followed James Martin's writing and speaking career (so I'm coming at this with a deficient based of knowledge) but my impression is that his usual modus operandi is to blithely omit (rather than directly and explicitly deny) the Church's moral teachings on homosexuality.

For instance, he will not say gays can be married to each other in the Catholic Church, but he WILL re-tweet pro-gay-marriage messages.

He won;'t say "Sodomy is a God-pleasing way to express love" but he WILL say that we should bless gay people's love for each other, without specifying that this is predicated on sodomy. He'll speak of their affection and commitment instead.

The way of equivocation and ambiguity is almost a more effective way to do evil, than outright rebellion.

His latest was that gay partners ought to be able to kiss each other at the "kiss of peace" at Mass. He ignores the fact that this is supposed to be a solemn liturgical gesture (usually handshake), not a PDA.

In this sly, indirect way he has of talking, he resembles the deep dishonesty of the man now occupying the Chair of Peter.

I follow the homo on twitter, along with Robby George. George was concerned that the homo’s locution’s about whether sodomy is a sin, etc., were less than consistent with the Faith and confronted the homo. After some back and forth, the homo grudgingly relented about the actual content of Church teaching, and grudgingly affirmed belief in it.

The lacuna that I see in the sodomite’s views is that he fails to acknowledge that bishops shouldn’t ordain homos, and homos who accept ordination commit sin by doing so.

Even without this group I’m sure the sodomites will be well represented.

The NRSVCE version of the Bible is even much more blunt in the English.

Looks like the Pope will demand that God says “sorry” to both Sodom and Gomorrah.

I know what you mean, Biggirl, but don't think so. Pope Francis rarely speaks that clearly. His answers are usually along the lines of "Yes. No. I don't know. You figure it out."

As they used to say about the carnival card sharp, "Don't watch his mouth. Watch his hands."
