Vatican Anti-Children-Tweet Scandalizes Even Protestants

On February 6 the Pontifical Academy of Sciences run by the controversial Argentinean Bishop Marcelo Sánchez Sorondo re-tweeted from its Twitter account “Casina Pio IV” a New York Times article entitled: “No Children Because of Climate Change? Some People Are Considering it.”

The re-tweet produced strong reactions. Paweł Chojecki, an US-style Protestant preacher in Lublin, Poland, commented underneath, “Today the Vatican is promoting a diabolical depopulation teaching! This is not a church of Christ.”

Wait a minute ... how is this tweet showing that the RCC is condoning families having no children because of climate change? It simply says some families are considering it ... not that the Church is teaching it.

I think they do. I think this “pope” should be investigated thoroughly. Sweet Benedict XIV brought me into the Church after Sweet John Paul II passed. THIS “pope” only lectures me to accept my own downfall like Obama used to do. When he was forced out I felt Catholic no longer.

Sorondo is the same guy who claimed, “Right now, those who are best implementing the social doctrine of the Church are the Chinese.”

China enforces a one-child policy, forced abortions, forced sterilizations, etc.

Is it any wonder he retweets population control propaganda.

It means they are following along with typically globalist talking points to try to get people to not have families. Families are the structure that has developed that has allowed People to survive and thrive. Even in so-called overpopulated areas it is only family that people can depend on. To disrespect families means to make people dependent on government, which is double plus ungood.

Agreed they should follow it up with commentary, but maybe they’re just relaying a story they think needs attention. And it does. It goes against the teachings of the Church. People need to be warned of ungodly behaviors.

Let’s hope so. We’ve come into an era of repression in which it is disadvantageous to speak one’s mind on any issue lest it have political and social repercussions that most individuals would not be able to deal with. This is not the America that I grew up in. In some ways it is interesting to me to live in a totalitarian system that operates by favor rather than merit. Yet I hope our children will one day get to experience the feeling of freedom.
