I grew up in a parish with a pedophike pastor, moved after college to anothe parish which had a pedophike priest and moved from there to a third parish with a neighboring parish headed by a pedophike. I don’t care what you think of Pope Benedict XVI, he worked hard to eliminate the pedophiles and clean up the seminaries. For that I was grateful. Others can want a pope to be and do all sorts of hinges, I just wanted one to work to eliminate the evil of pedophilia and Pope Benedict XVI sure tried. And as soon as I type this you’ll find another reason to comment on him or Pope Francis, so I give up. I just hope you never had to deal with what I did regarding pedophelia.

I understand your issue with pedophilia. However, do you even see the contradiction here?

If Benedict did what you said (he worked hard to eliminate the pedophiles), wouldn't it also be true to say that JPII failed to do that? And yet somehow it was a great thing that Benedict beatified him whereby he started the canonization process?

I didn’t make my point very well...sorry about that. You and others don’t like Pope Francis and I understand. This all started with a tree not decorated to people’s liking. I then said I have a photo of a tree from around 2005, 2006 or 2007 at the Vatican that has no ornaments and it was there during the life of a Pope who was a saint. My point was that not all trees have to have ornaments to make it awful or not awful. It was just that the JPII tree didn’t have any ornaments and they sainted him. As for JPII not succeeded in eradicating pedophikes I’ll grant you that poi t, it took PopE Benedict XVI to even partially succeed until he resigned/retired or was pushed aside. I just wanted people to understand that even a widely beloved pope who wasn’t chastised the way Pope Francis is here, sometimes does not decorate trees.

as for JPII not being successful in eradicating pedopelia, I agree and actually think he knew how to do it but only after his death by having appointed many conservative Cardinals. Toward the end of JPII’s life, he was frail. I’m certain that some of the entrenched clergy inside the Vatican weren’t willing to let him make changes. It might make him look weak, but I don’t think JPII was a bad pope, just not able in his latter years.

there are still plenty of good priests, bishops, Cardinals and even good seminaries in the church. Some here simply can’t live with anything other than all the way to one side. I’m not a big fan of this Pope, in my opinion, he shames people, plays on guilt and doesn’t have a clue about how the economy works. But he’s temporary and as we’ve seen with Pope Benedict XVI, things can be reversed.
