Wisdom has built her [spacious and sufficient] house; She has hewn out and set up her seven pillars. She has prepared her food, she has mixed her wine; She has also set her table. She has sent out her maidens, she calls From the highest places of the city: “Whoever is naive or inexperienced, let him turn in here!” As for him who lacks understanding, she says, “Come, eat my food And drink the wine I have mixed [and accept my gifts]. “Leave [behind] your foolishness [and the foolish] and live, And walk in the way of insight and understanding.”
Father God, we are so grateful for the Spirit of Grace Who has brought us all together here at this time. You have done such a mighty work in our lives to make this happen. We look forward to the day when we can rejoice before You together in Heaven. Meanwhile, here we are, left on earth with an assignment to expand Your Kingdom and bring it to earth.
We pray for the United States of America and ask You for the Spirit of Wisdom to have free course. We ask You, Sir, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may grant to our leaders and citizens a spirit of wisdom and of revelation [that gives a deep and personal and intimate insight] into the true knowledge of Him [for we know the Father through the Son]. We ask You for laborers to proclaim Your wisdom as You recount in Your Word examples from the days of the early church:
But they were not able to successfully withstand and cope with the wisdom and the intelligence [and the power and inspiration] of the Spirit by whom he was speaking. (Acts 6:10)
And when I came to you, brothers and sisters, proclaiming to you the testimony of God [concerning salvation through Christ], I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom [no lofty words of eloquence or of philosophy as a Greek orator might do]; (1 Cor. 2:1)
And my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom [using clever rhetoric], but [they were delivered] in demonstration of the [Holy] Spirit [operating through me] and of [His] power [stirring the minds of the listeners and persuading them], (1 Cor. 2:4) [See also 1 Cor. 2:13 and 2 Cor. 1:12]
As Wisdom calls out, let our people turn in to her gates by the same Spirit of Grace that led us to You.
We pray also for every loyal member of our Armed Forces. Remove from their midst those that were sent by the enemy or turn their hearts to You before they can do harm. Let Your cloak of protection cover each loyal servant and defender. We pray for an environment in our Nation that honors, respects and knows how to care for our warriors.
We pray for the president as he works with congressional leaders on completing the details of tax reform. May he have words of wisdom from Heaven that will be irrefutable and find favor with the hearers. We also pray for President Trump as he speaks to the public and answers concerns expressed by many Americans. Again, Sir, may the words of his mouth be words given by the Holy Spirit as You show him and us Your unmerited favor. We pray for congressional leaders as they continue to adjust the legislation. By Your grace may they do what is in the best interest of the American people.
Thank You, Sir, for audience with the Creator of Heaven and Earth and for telling us that You delight in our prayers. We know You are surely answering them as we come to You in the name and authority of Jesus Christ.

Help us keep our eyes on You during these perilous times. We take heart in Your Promise:
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in Me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
JESUS is the reason we celebrate. Our hope and trust are in Him.

Holding to the promise of Romans 8:28:
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him,
who have been called according to His purpose.
Holding up President Trump from the onslaught of attacks on all fronts — especially the enemy within.
May Providence more the heart of Congress and its latest Senator elect, Doug Jones, to do the right thing.
