Reversing a decision made last week to end contraceptive coverage for staff and students, Notre Dame said on Tuesday that although it follows Catholic teaching against the use of birth control, the school won't interfere with the contraception coverage maintained by the insurance company because of the "plurality of religious and other convictions among its employees."

The poor soul of Theodore Hesburgh still haunts Notre Dame.

ND left the Christian faith years ago.
it is run by a clique of extreme leftist, New Party (Communist) types from Chicago
and I would not send them any of my children or one thin dime in contributions until the commies (same bunch that backed Obama in ChiTown) are thrown OUT and ND is restored to a proper college where honest faith is at least respected again

They should have died rather than offer it in the first place. Once an apostate, always an apostate—unless contrition enters the picture, that is.

So Notre Dame said that although it follows Catholic teaching against the use of birth control, it doesn't really follow Catholic teaching against the use of birth control.

If they really followed (and believed) Catholic teaching, they'd know that the prohibition on artificial contraception argues from natural law, not revealed law, and is thus binding on all people, despite any "plurality of religious and other convictions".

As an ND alum sadly explained to me, "ND isn't a Catholic college, it's just a college where a lot of Catholic people go"

A real Pope would force them to reverse the reversal, but I won’t hold my breath.

Additionally, we the voters should make fun of this. A month of pills costs 9.00 without insurance, these jerks pick the dumbest hills to fight over.
