I get these messages on my smart phone and so love the wisdom of Amir..
Heard him in person at Calvary Chapel Chino Hills.
God Bless Him.
dear jocko,
re: ‘Seems to me, that in this political context, with such an abundance of brazen examples, there would be a shocking number of talking arses available to convince you otherwise.
{taking fingers out of cheek}.’
First, whose cheeks?
Second, the only ‘talker’ worth his ‘salt’, and i have examined his ‘salt’, is Billy Graham, and he ain’t sayin’ much these days.
Third, my beliefs and convictions are mine, and mine alone, and are not open to debate.
I’m looking forward to it. Thank you.
Donald Trump is slowing it down a little and we are grateful to him, but no man can or will fix this mess or prevent what we know is coming.
You are blessed to have heard him in person. He is supposed to be coming to New York but I haven’t been able to find out when. October 7 he will be in Minnesota.
I think you were lumping all events together, or referring to the end of the world, which is not the same as the end times.
It used to be one of those classic cartoons in magazines like Saturday Evening Post: the bearded man in a tattered cloak carrying a sign that says “The End Is Near.” So they made a joke out of it and led people astray.
Same effect as that caused by all the people crying Wolf at the appearance of different signs in the heavens. Those who follow prophecy find these guesses to be hasty and relatively uninformed and too definite and dogmatic, but not always of course. Some people think hard and study and just simply come to the wrong conclusions.
Most of the derision is due to misinterpretation and to not bothering to read up on it and find out all about it. But some is due to being too attached to this world and not wanting prophecy to be true.
As you wrote to someone else, your beliefs are your own and should not be anyone’s business unless you ask them. I agree. I think you are interested in all of this, however, so you might want to stay open-minded and ask the Lord what HE thinks. He has given some of the most skeptical people the most amazing answers when they ask Him in sincerity.
dear firebrand,
re: ‘I think you are interested in all of this, however, so you might want to stay open-minded and ask the Lord what HE thinks. He has given some of the most skeptical people the most amazing answers when they ask Him in sincerity.’
Like a TV character of late, who has ‘cut his wings in protest of the boss’, I too, have a beef with the boss. So, till such a time to arise later, no tin can and string.
A Franciscan said one time: It’s better to be angry at God than to ignore him completely.
dear firebrand,
re: ‘A Franciscan said one time: Its better to be angry at God than to ignore him completely.’
At least, now, I will be in good company!!
