Thats rude. Maybe theyve only been married for a few months. Maybe theyd be more in Gods will if theyd have had an illegitimate child earlier so when this article was written a child could be mentioned in the bio to make you happy.
Too many maybe occurrences to effectively counter the point wbarmy suggests; the bio sheds light on the letter; the letter's tone and substance raised questions about what type of faith communities the author was addressing.

I didn’t get the author wanted ‘liturgical calendar’. I thought he meant it is okay to question such changes in worship, as to eliminate real sermons of conscience, for music that is not anointed but worldly?? In that frame of mind, it is acceptable to leave a long term church commitment to find a church one feels comfortable worshipping in a way that ministers to their spirit man.

Lets get back to basics.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE CHURCH?
This is an article about what we don’t want. People can tell you in GREAT DETAIL what they don’t want but when you ask them what they want, there is silence.

It’s not about what people want, it is about what people NEED. They need JESUS. The problem is the huge distraction of pop culture, forced into the church, makes it difficult to see Jesus.
Bodleian_Girl posted the article below, this states it better than I can. I suggest you read it.

Perhaps five years ago I went to John acArthur’s Grace Community Church. He’s an expositor of the Word who has challenged seeker churches/modern churches for some time. I disagree with John on something critical but felt that attending a fellowship on Sunday was very important. I went twice. His morning service was traditional and his evening service prominently featured a “praise team.” I never went back.

Our church does not pass the plate. I hope that practice spreads to all the churches, but I doubt that it will.

“his evening service prominently featured a ‘praise team.’ I never went back.”
If there’s a praise team with entertainers traipsing across the platform grasping, and crooning into, their beloved microphones, I don’t go back either. At that point, the glory is for them, not God. If I want to see a show, I’ll go to Vegas.

If they dont take tithes, how do they pay the minister?
John 10
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. 12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. 13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep
The hireling will look for a Church where he can earn more money, paid preachers are the wolves.
I know a lot of preachers who hold down jobs just like every one else because they understand that they are not to get paid for spreading the gospel.

Cant very well read your bible in the dark though, can you?
If people would read their Bible they would know that tithes were of the old covenant and paid preachers are of hell.
Alms are fine to pay for the church up keep, some people just does not choose to do it that way when they can hold service in their house.

We are saved by grace through faith.
John14
15 If you love me, keep my commandments.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them; he it is that loveth me. And he that loveth me, shall be loved of my Father: and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

God is not the same thing as religion, which is mans creation. Grace lies in The Word.

My point is that in these “seeker-oriented” rock and roll churches the lights are dimmed and a spotlight is on a speaker. This makes it impossible to read your bible.
10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.

Unfortunately, the church and much of formal Christian religion has offered the law mixed with grace. That is a deadly mixture and people are tired of it. People are TIRED of that law mixed with grace. Hear that? Tired of it. They were tired of it when Jesus preached and lived it before their very eyes. It's a deadly mixture. They crucify people over that kind of stuff.
