Are you saying her parents sent her to Catholic School because they didn’t want her in SF public school? She’s now 84 years old, so a big chunk of her schooling was during WWII. I don’t think SF was then as it is now. Perhaps the rounding up of the Japanese in Northern California during WWII helped define her politics?
