Nonie Darwish gives a westernized definition of "religion" in her polemic against Islam, "Cruel and Usual Punishment", as follows:
1) a religion must be a personal choice;
2) no religion should kill those who leave it;
3) a religion must never order the killing and subjugation of those who do not choose to be its members;
4) a religion must abide by basic human rights.
For the last 70 years, the west has been ostensibly tolerant of individual freedom of conscience and human life (note: the exceptions being abortion, euthanasia, Socialism, etc.) Accepting this definition leads one to conclude that Islam is not a religion, but rather an anti-religion or political movement. Islam allows no personal choice, killing all who defect from its tenets, and Sharia Law is the antithesis to human rights (unless you are a White Islamic Male).
True Christianity is never coercive, but is spread by a mental and moral assent to truth and love. Christian conversion is man's heartfelt response to God's enacted love for mankind by enduring Cross through His one and only Son, Jesus Christ. Islam, by comparison, progresses through the sword. Forced conversion continues to this day in any Islam dominated nation where life, liberty, pursuit of happiness, and human rights are either unknown or only available to followers of the desert madman and his moon god.
Given its historical string of unmitigated successes, it would seem that Islam is Satan's battle plan response to Christianity (taking him 600 years to enact after trying other plans like Judaism, Gnosticism, Arianism, Manichaeism, and other heresies). Indeed, Islam is progressing nicely. Virtually all post-Christian countries are now Islamic (e.g. North Africa, Turkey, Middle East, Bosnia, Albania, etc.) Right in front of our eyes, we are seeing the Islamization of post Christian Western and Central Europe. Just as the Roman World fell to the love, faith, and truth of Christianity. The post-Christian Roman world is now falling to Islam through "Al Hijrah". For 1400 years, the Christian "body-religio" of Europe was able to withstand incessant Islamic attacks because of a strong immune system (i.e. Christian faith). However, commensurate to Europe's weak immune system, is the vulnerability to opportunistic viruses (i.e. Islam).
Recently Europeans leaders have capitulated in thought and in deed to Islam, for example, Pope Francis saying that Islam is the same as Christianity and Angela Merkel saying "Islam belongs to Germany!" It is interesting that Islamic leaders are not making any concessions like this...

Article V Convention: an amendment making these the hallmark of any religion. Those that fail this test are not religions in the western/civilized sense & can be banned. Period.
If the civilized world is to survive, Islam must be understood for what it really is: It’s not a religion, form of government, or anything recognizable to the civilized mind. Islam is a disease, an incurable disease of the mind that is highly contagious among the feeble minded and is now spreading among the world’s feeble minded at an epidemic rate. As with any disease, one can’t reason with this disease, negotiate with it, or treat in a manner other than how one would treat any other incurable disease.
As past efforts to contain this disease have failed, carriers of this Plague of Islam must be eradicated wherever they're found, for if they're not, this disease could eventually end not just Western Civilization, but it could undo over 5,000 years of human civilization.
Two hundred years of the so called Enlightenment have incessantly attacked the basis of the Christian faith.
You can see many of the original Islamic practices alive today. The Nigerian muslim group Bokum Haram is doing what Mohammed did, they are attacking civilians at every opportunity. They are attacking families as they are sleeping, they attack and burn churches, they kill Christians whenever possible. They kidnap young girls and proudly announce that they are making sex slaves out of them. They have no honor. In most cultures men would find it shameful for them to deliberately kill or harm women or children but to the jihadists it means nothing. They have no regard for anyone. This is the teaching of the devil.
I would suggest that those “quite decent people” renounce Islam!

I'll never understand FReepers who claim to read their Bibles who who apparently don't see what is right before their faces. Neither will I understand the exaltation of the "enlightenment," American ideology, or "western civilization" over a G-d Who was there before any of those things ever existed.
If FReepers were to miraculously wake up in ancient Biblical Israel . . . would they like what they saw, or would they damn it in the name of Thomas Jefferson?
Islam is both a religion and totalitarian political system.
It is unique among religions for calling for the creation of a theocracy to enforce the religion’s dictates on everyone.
I have been screaming this through accusations of bigotry. Many just won’t hear it. Truth is they are afraid of being called names or thought of as intollerant. The Alinsky stuff works surprisingly well.

There must be guidelines for determining what is or is not a religion. Not simply that a lot of people believe it. Otherwise its just the size of the cult.
