“I honestly expect some Catholic politician to eventually say that Satan is equal to Christ. I really do”

Well; Rome teaches that Jesus didn't REALLY mean it when He said, "Get thee behind me, Satan." to the first pope.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (NIV)

9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God?

Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men[a] 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Catechism of the Catholic Church

You'll find some of this teaching in the LDS Religious Organization as well...

"I do not find in the Bible the modern terms "petting" nor "homosexuality," yet I found numerous scriptures which forbade such acts under by whatever names they might be called. I could not find the term "homosexuality," but I did find numerous places where the Lord condemned such a practice with such vigor that even the death penalty was assessed."

"And Cain said unto the Lord, My punishment is greater than I can bear. Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth." (Genesis 4:9-14.) That was true of murder. It is also true of illicit sex, which, of course, includes all petting, fornication, adultery, homosexual acts, and all other perversions. The Lord may say to offenders, as He did to Cain, "What hast thou done?" The children thus conceived make damning charges against you; the companions who have been frustrated and violated condemn you; the body that has been defiled cries out against you; the spirit which has been dwarfed convicts you. You will have difficulty throughout the ages in totally forgiving yourself."
-Prophet Spencer W. Kimball, "Love Versus Lust", BYU Speech January 5, 1965. Often-used quote still used today in LDS seminary classes.

I think Nancy’s comments are consistent with dementia.

Her comments are (unfortunately...) consistent with a very large population of Catholics that are leftists/alt-left/left leaning that are pro-homosexuality, pro-homosexual marriage (some within the construct of the church even), pro-abortion and more that are directly against what the Bible actually says.

Please don't interpret my post here as being "Catholic bashing" as that's not my intent at all. That's my observation and frankly, people like Nancy Pelosi and the growing population of those like her (and some worse!) within the Catholic Church is a primary reason why I left the Catholic Church. It's not just the folks sitting in the pew's either. Leftist Priests have seemingly taken over the Catholic Church too.

Breaks my heart as I born, raised, schooled, confirmed and married in the Catholic church. The Priests that I knew growing up in the Church were all and I mean ALL fine men of God. Wish they were still here among us today.

Those of you who remain in the Catholic Church and continue to fight the incursion of it from the left I wish you nothing but well and nothing but the best. You're stronger than I was.

I.e., actually conservative. Doctrinal in Biblical exigency.

What will happen when they find the ways of the world more attractive than the message of the Gospel, trading the Church’s magnificent magisterium for the whim of popular culture?

I take it the author of this piece hasn’t been paying attention since the 1960’s...

True enough.

I was just using the more common translation so as not to get off-topic with that kind of debate.

I personally recommend the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

Despite the name, it’s nation-wide and well-grounded in Biblical truth.

I can’t imagine why anyone would listen to Pelosi. She appears to be mentall ill, on medication, has suffered some kind of brain damage, or perhaps all three.

Neither homosexuals nor Roman Catholics are governed by the teaching of Christ.

mind sharing with us how many brownie points you get from the
Jack Chick cabal on this website for that little pearl of wisdom...?

"I honestly expect some Catholic politician to eventually say that Satan is equal to Christ. I really do."

Hasn't the Marxist Papist-in-Chief in Rome already said that?

I’ve actually attended several MS services in rural SC, and I agree.

As a lapsed Catholic I now feel the (Catholic) church was more a way to control people rather than about the faith for many in the upper levels of the church.

Uhuh - And it's presently fashionable to "celebrate" the reformation by ignoring Martin Luther's anti-semetic inspirational screeds whilst quacking --- "We Lutherans are more Catholic than Catholic".

SMH in agreement with Thomas Jefferson...

"...who, being themselves but fallible and uninspired men, have assumed dominion over the faith of others, setting up their own opinions and modes of thinking as the only true and infallible, and as such endeavoring to impose them on others, hath established and maintained false religions over the greatest part of the world, and through all time;

...

that it is time enough for the rightful purposes of civil government, for its officers to interfere when principles break out into overt acts against peace and good order; and finally, that truth is great and will prevail if left to herself, that she is the proper and sufficient antagonist to error, and has nothing to fear from the conflict, unless by human interposition disarmed of her natural weapons, free argument and debate, errors ceasing to be dangerous when it is permitted freely to contradict them. "

--The Virginia Act For Establishing Religious Freedom
--Thomas Jefferson, 1786

Unfair. God wants us all to earnestly reach out to him.

The method is not as important as the true, Biblical seeking. And who, short of God, is perfect?

You are always a Catholic if you are a baptized Catholic. You’re just an inactive one that can come back at any time by sitting down with a priest and getting your questions answered.

Why do you always assume that someone has unanswered questions when they indicate they are at odds with Catholicism?

Did he give any indication that he had questions he didn't have the answer to? Did he ask you any?

No.

Then what on earth makes you think that he had any?

And remember, that a bad pope does not the Catholic church make.

Does the Holy spirit guide the college of cardinals in the selection of the new pope?

Thanks...

I ‘ignored’ him/her on purpose....always the same type of rant -

Typical LIB...no one has a ‘right’ to express an opinion unless in lockstep with him/her.....

And notice how this ‘type’ are always right?

If you refer to me in a post, please include me in the address bar, OK?

And I am not a lib.

If anything the people who could not abide with the rules of the Catholic Church are the libs — leaving the leadership team at their own discretion instead of following God’s pLan for their life.
