It’s not a silly quibble because the word “defrocked” is meaningless. It fails to convey what has happened.
When a reporter says a priest has been “defrocked,” the reporter is failing to transmit any information.
Saint Luke Institute has no power to keep any priest out of jail, or to function as a “hideout.”
SLI has problems, but it’s laughable to portray them as some kind of supra-legal, all-powerful Marvel Comics villains.
