She is the youth minister of the church.I believe I said “a” lay leader. Dismiss her all you want. You do not know the woman. I do and I have the utmost respect for her as a person of faith and as deeply thoughtful, literate, deeply faith based Christian.

I learned a long time ago that the label “right-wing” merely means that the author is left-wing and does not like the person or group to whom he is referring.
That insight came when Le Pen (the father) was described as a homosexual socialist, and also “right-wing.” How did that make sense? It turns out that he wanted to stop immigration from Algeria (probably a good move). So for not having the “approved” position on immigration, a homosexual socialist was given the “right-wing” label. It’s like giving people the right to hate the man.
I think this Pope is destroying the idea of Papal infallibility.
I wish Catholics and other Christians would learn (non-Marxist) economics. The historian Thomas Woods tried to reconcile free markets (freedom) with Catholicism. Others should get on board.
It is true that Christ’s disciples gave up their wealth to walk with Jesus. Please note, government was not involved. It was a voluntary choice. Also note that this was a unique moment in history. Metaphorically, you may choose to walk with Jesus. Literally, you can not.
As for this Pope, I hope the Catholic church has a gentle mechanism for removing him from office. (I believe that less than gentle mechanisms have been used in Church history. Who is his food taster?)

I have spent years studying this woman because she is a uniquely intelligent, spiritual believer. She is gentle, engaging, principled, happy, kind, with a servant’s heart. Unless personally confronted with sin, she finds and relates exclusively to the best in people. She is a genuinely remarkable Christian. She sees the Pope opening the church to including the lives and service of the laity as equal members of the Body of Christ.
I am engaging in this conversation in an attempt to balance the argument in order to get to a meaningful position on this Pope.
I have read the hostile press, here and elsewhere. Hostility to Francis does not speak to the millions of believers in the RCC who deeply admire the work of Pope Francis. This woman is my contact with that great swath of members of the Body of Christ who support him.
The myopic louts who insist anyone with vision out of synch with theirs is an idiot need not respond. Your input is not helpful and will be sumarily dismissed
